The photographer earns 70% of the net profits on all retail sales.

So is there a defined layout of what that is? I know with many other sites there is an actual breakdown photographers will make. Most go off the gross, if you are basing it off of net how are we as photographers to actually know what that is?

On the www.pixoto.com/settings/market page it describes the calculation and it is dependent on the markup you set.

Essentially we mark-up the retail price of the canvas to be X% above the wholesale price that we are charging. You receive 70% of the markup. If we are running a sale the retail price is automatically adjusted and you still get 70% of the markup.

Does this help?

can you give a calculation example with a detailed breakdown please, to me that all is sort of foggy. I want to understand for example if one buys a canvas for lets say $100 how you calculate what the seller gets. right now I can't follow it. Also my wife bought one of her own as canvas and didn't get anything into her account.

OK so how does a customer get to my site to purchase the canvas. (what should I put on my business card to get him or her to the point where they can purchase one of my images)?

Hi Folks... Have a question... If I buy a canvas of my own photo and i pay the price stated do I still get the payout for my percentage? Just to be clear... (Just making up numbers here) say the "Buy Canvas" price is 100 bucks and I would get 50 buck for the sale to someone else... So If I hit the Buy button and it's a hundred buck and it's my own photo do I get the 50 bucks so the Canvas actually only costs me 50 bucks... If so I want to have a few of my shots printed for Christmas Presents...

You get the Canvas at the wholesale price Quantammist. It should show on your pics that the wholesale price is available to you.

You do not get the commission if you buy your own photo. They are priced at wholesale price if you buy your own photo.
