While voting, I have seeing lately lots of photos with borders.. does Pixoto changed it's policy about borders? If you did, nothing I can see is posted...

for instance, just few of photos in this portfolio don't have borders, and photos with borders (even couple of months old) which I know are reported, still are online..

It is quite funny how this person writes perfectly good english names on photos, but is unable to read rules for posting photos.

Thank you :)

Hello Jasenka,

Yes I believe the policy has been changed, borders are allowed but watermarks, date stamps and any other text on an image is not.

Then better change the rules page :)

http://www.pixoto.com/photography-com...

There is still stated:

"Images with identifiable watermarks (including any text or date embedded in the image) or borders will be deleted."

And can you please link me to notification where is stated that boders are alowed now (and since when) because I can not find it :)

Thank you Sherry for answer :)

I don't understand the problem with borders...I have submitted some shots with borders because the background colour in duels is constant and some shots get lost in the background...borders and frames are part of the overall look of a shot particularly if you are printing and mounting your work....how this can effect the quality of the actual shot I am at a loss to understand...

It doesn't affect quality, but I think that there may be members who put a specific recognizable border on their images- which may influence cheating.

had'nt thought of this....ofcourse any pro member can look at duel history and identify a competitor...border or not...hence my suggestion (so far ignored) that duel history for the day should be anonymous also....

Here's an example of a photog who uses a consistent border pattern, such that I can recognize her work, even if it's not in her typical category.
That could be to her advantage if someone was out there to watch for her photos to vote for them, or to her disadvantage if someone was trying to vote her down.
I know that borders are within the rules now, but already it's taken away some anonymity.
