How come when I boost an image nothing happens now ?. in the last couple of months I have noted that images get a few votes, then stall even with boosts remaining. It never used to be like this and I would like to know why.

I am getting fed up with it and considering chucking Pixoto and moving to another platform,

Hello John, can you please post links to images in question?

There are numerous reasons why images stall in gaining more duels, but images will get eventually all duels it needs to get before it is paused. Sometimes it can take a couple of minutes and sometimes days, all depending on various elements.

It’s not just one image, it’s a images my in general. Two or three months ago duels went through very quickly, now they are stalled for days

Hello John, the ultimate number of votes that an image gets is dependent on its early dueling history. The more early wins an image has the higher its ImageScore will go and the more duels it will ultimately receive. The highest rated unpaused images on the site will end up with four times (or more) duels than the lowest. After the first 50 duels or so the change in ImageScore with each additional duel slows down. Essentially the first 50 or so duels define the approximate area of the leaderboard an image should be and the remaining duels refine that placement. We are primarily focused on refining the scores of the top image – which is the reason for the disproportionate number of duels to those types of images.

If you check your images (ones that are not paused) you can see that images that get higher scores get more duels, while images that have lower scores (or lower expected scores) will always get fewer duels. In the case of the image you posted, it is highly unlikely image will be in top 10% of all images and because of that it will receive fewer votes and it will take more time for votes to arrive. But it will get an additional 3 duels before it is paused.

I hope this helps.

Jasenka, even great images that win duels are taking several days to reach 100 duels. Those images used to get 100 duels in a day or two days at the most. Not enough people are voting. Ultimately, that is the real problem. I still feel that the community contests are draining too many votes from the daily duels.
