I think you will find it is for the moderator to set a limit on number of images submitted to their contests some you will find do set a limit.

Hi Phil, I'm afraid I am one of those folks you mention who sometimes enters many pics in a contest. Sometimes I re-enter existing pics and sometimes I will do an entirely new photo shoot just for a single contest. The inspiration to get out and make pictures is nice, especially for someone my age!

I also sometimes vote on over five thousands duels a week and there is little else to do with five thousand credits per week except use them for entering contests, (one can use credits for boosting existing pics into more duels but after a hundred or so duels boosting usually becomes pointless).

I am also not convinced that an overwhelming number of pics in one contest gives an advantage at all, as all your pics will duel against each other throughout the life of the contest, and one must lose each duel. The inspiration to pursue photography and vote in the duels is enough for me.

I always treat photo contests as an opportunity to learn. Photography is art... some things appeal to one person and not another. But there is some technical things that are important to bring to your photography. You can have a beautiful photo but if it is out of focus or has electrical wires running through it... it will detract immensely from the esthetics. If you submit 10 bad photos to a contest the odds are high that will will not win a thing. If you submit one awesome photo, you might win. I don't think it matters how many photos a person submits. If they are good, they're good. If they lose... get back out there and try try try again!

I agree Mr. Robbie H, If contests resulted in a monetary prize then more stringent rules would be appropriate. Getting the little Judge's Award badge is fun, but that's all it is supposed be...It's not like you can sell them on Ebay or something.

.Also I couldn't agree more about the distracting backgrounds and lack of focusing you mentioned. My personal pet peeve is a beautiful shot of some exotic local...and the horizon is slanted...D'OH!
