After Several Years, It's Time to Update the System

The system needs to be modified so that new images in the Nature Up Close category do not compete against images from 2011-2013 (or whenever the category was modified). I entered an image that dueled against at least four images (out of only six duels) that were either butterflies or flowers. Since those images are no longer in that category, it does not seem right that current images must still duel against them. Additionally, I think it confuses new voters. Some start entering butterflies and flowers in Nature Up Close, because it must be okay since that is what they see in the duels. Others vote against the older images because they know that those don't belong in Nature Up Close.

There it is again :-)
This problem is really annoying for a lot of people... however Pixoto cannot fix it.

@Pixoto team (sorry not you Jasenka, but Jason and the others): I still like the site, but several other good sites pop up for photography. They all have regular updates. Any idea when Pixoto does its next mayor update, to bring it more up to standard?

Maybe Jason and the others are fake persons? I never see any answer on questions or so ever. I think Jasenka runs the site on here one .

Hi Nico, Jason is not fake person :)
You can check topics he replied to here: http://community.pixoto.com/people/ja... (if you click on other Pixoto rep's names you can find their topics too).
While I wish I would run Pixoto, I don't, I'm just community manager :)

I hope this helps.

Jasenka thanks for your answer. I'm glad he is not fake , but his last action was > 5 months ago. But why don't he reply your/ community questions ? Is there no other person who can reply all questions the people are waiting for?
Some possibilities: is he fired or making trip round the world, have an other job,is he sick ( or worse...).
My opion : PIXOTO FIRST.. Forget it !!!

Looks like Pixoto-management (Jason & Co) have their focus somewhere else.
As even you Jasenka, spending so much time in the community to support pixoto members, do not get the answers anymore.
They leave (even) you dangling out there and do not respond at all.
In the meantime other photo-sites & apps move ahead leaving pixoto behind....
Weird en very unprofessional unfortunately.

I just lost two more duels in Nature Up Close to Flowers from 2011-2013. Ugh!

What should I say Jasenka... I don't think that I have to remind you. Also you can only repeat the question that you've asked so many times already.
In one of the other threads you said Jason & Co does give you replies...
,,, I can only doubt that.
Several weeks are passed again without even an answer.

@Jason:
Please return to (the community of) your customers!
Pixoto cannot survive without them!

Is it just a cashcow now? No more developments? No future?
Even if that's an answer your customers don't like, it at least is an answer.
Now it's just silence (so really unprofessional).
As said before: the world of photo-sites is growing. And sites are improving continuously. But all Pixoto investments seem to have stopped.
Or... will you surprise us?

Today it's April 30, and still there is no response at all from Jason...
I cannot say "unexpected" unfortunately... Jason proved (again) that is his interest is not with Pixoto anymore (and for sure not with his customers/members anymore).

It looks like you are the only one really interested in having satisfied pixoto customers Jasenka.

Does the info from LinkedIn (below) explains Jason's lack of interest ?

"A serial entrepreneur, Jason has been a founder of, investor in, and strategic adviser to, technology driven businesses for the past 17 years. He enjoys nothing more than helping budding entrepreneurs build profitable and sustainable businesses.

Jason is currently the Managing Partner of Growth Prospects (www.growthprospects.com) which is focused on helping B2B companies accelerate their growth through a proprietary lead prospecting service that delivers targeted warm leads directly to their sales people.

Jason is also Partner/CFO at Denver based candy gifting company Sugarwish, which provides an innovative and fun solution for employee incentive and other corporate gifting needs. Sugarwish has hundreds of corporate clients ranging from GE to Google to Gilt Groupe.

Jason is also Co-Founder & CEO of Pixoto. an image marketplace as well as contest and community for passionate photographers which has over 6 million images for sale.

In 1999, Jason founded Pictage, Inc., which became the leading ecommerce and fulfillment solution for professional wedding and portrait photographers in the US. Over the course of nine years at the helm Jason grew the company from an idea to profitable company with over $40 million in revenue. Pictage was acquired by Apax Partners in 2006."

Ad, I think your chances at his response are better if you send him PM on LinkedIn. Does not look like they (Jason, Justin, etc) even visit Pixoto anymore. My hope is at some point they decide to sell it to someone who cares. Until then it will probably "float" as is, since it looks like there are still people who pay for "Pro" memberships and order canvases and other photo-related materials, thus given them some money to pay for storage.

The decline of Pixoto continues, which is why you cannot get an answer.

Just look at this post from last year and compare the image submission rates today

http://community.pixoto.com/pixoto/to...

This is the latest........................

Landscape category June 4 2017 daily submission 174

People category June 4 2017 daily submission 82

Buildings category June 4 2017 daily submission 71

wow - those numbers are telling and obvious. I guess if our perceptions are correct, that the owners have checked out and moved on, I suppose I will do the same. It's really a bummer, because I have been an advice player for years and have enjoyed the site. maybe someone else will buy it and bring it back.

Dear Jason... it's about a year ago you got a question....and still no answer!
Did you completely lost interest in Pixoto?
Also I've not seen any investments/new developments in 2017.
The number of submissions drops.
Does this mean Pixoto will not live long anymore?
