additional tabs requested for voting, "tie" and "neither"

I would like to recommend offering additional tabs to the voting page. In addition to who won, I'd like to see a "Tie" option and "neither" option. If both photos are amazing and a toss of the coin decides who wins, the tie option would be great for the person voting and for the photographer to see which photos are comparable with theirs. A neither option is needed for two competing photos that are both of Poor quality. To prevent voters from racking up points and simply clicking "tie" or "neither", the voter should be required to leave a comment as to why they choose tie or neither. These comments might help the photographers to improve the quality of their photos which is always helpful

I'm for one is against this. This will slow up more an already slow system. And a potential tool for cheaters that will "neither" photos until they get to ones they want.

Pertaining to a slow system- if a person is trying to speed through the voting system, I would assume they are not voting fairly. I appreciate a slow system so that I pay attention to detail .

Then there's no credits should be given for "neither" or "tie". And besides, this is PIXOTO, some members don't give a rat's ass about quality. And I'm just imagining my comments on some photos like, "I've seen this sports shots before. Your sports shots of a race in mud has been seen by me a million times. Could you please shoot other subjects. Please?" I think, I will just cut and paste that comment in all similar subjects.

I don't really see the need for this, it would be yet another tool for those who manipulate the voting.

Even if a subject has been seen a million times, it should be voted fairly on the quality of the shot. For those shots you've seen on a repetitive basis do you automatically chose the other photo despite the quality?
As for your cut and paste comment- when making your statement referring to "cheaters" we're you referring to yourself?

I agree with Terry on this. I will reiterate that we don't need this. It will just complicate more an already complicated system. If some members feel leaving "constructive" criticisms, they can always leave a comment during the duels. There's a comment ticker below the images already.

Maybe I'm the only one one who gets a lot of neithers. Yes I do leave comments and sometimes I really wonder why I should choose between oversaturated and overfiltered or between out of focus and camera shake. I

don't know how many times I have said today there is nothing in focus or suggested how to avoid camera shake ( are there really folks who shoot like in TV advertising with there arms stretched out? I wonder whether some actually know where the focus ring is :(

Others seem to love their HDR or Topaz filter, I can only repeat what reply I got today

""Thank you for your comment. The original image was very poor due to bad weather, so I was a little challenged with HDR"

I can't seriously do anything but pass on images like that. When I was an apprentice my instructor used to say
Oh God, let it rain BRAINS.

and then, after 10 punishments , you get two excellent, well focused, well composed images and you gotta vote one down. That isn't fair.

Thank you for your comment Annette and I agree with everything you stated. Anyone who takes voting seriously will appreciate a "neither" voting option especially when the two shots are so bad one can clearly see an effort was not made to create a good shot.
