We have been requesting for quite long time to modify our Film release and title date from BILAL: A Legend Breaks Free (2015) to A New Breed of Hero (2016) but no success and it’s effecting badly on our movie as it’s seems the movie has released already. However, we are planning to release in Fall 2016

The movie was screened to Dubai Film Festival last year in December with the name of Bilal. Request from IMDB to please help us immediately.

2015 is the correct year for this title under IMDb rules, sorry.  Please see http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?titleformat
We also associate the year of first public screening with each title as an aid to recognizing and distinguishing similar titles. For TV titles this is the broadcast year of the first episode. For movie titles this year is either the year of general release or of a festival presentation if earlier

I don't know what you mean by, "not screened it was premier." Can you explain what you mean?

Was it you or your crew that submitted the Dubai Film Festival as a release in the first place? I am wondering why if it never was shown. Having sold tickets or not is not relevant.  It's whether is was shown to the public or not.  Knowing the release info was there, did you not make efforts to remove the invalid data? I am sure the festival has a website. Does it list what was shown last year? If so, that might be enough to prove it hasn't been released.

As to changes being made, if there were significant changes, I believe you can list the first one correctly as Bilal (2015), then add the second version as a different title or different version. I really don't know that much about that, but doubt that 10% changed and presumably the same cast/crew would meet that criteria.

Anyway, since its year of first release was 2015, and as you kind of agreed above saying it's premier was at DIFF 2015, the date of first release should be 2015.  The way to change it is to correct the release dates.  So, after explaining it was released at DIFF 2015 (and probably submitting that in the first place), you'd now have to show that it was not screened at all there.  The enter its correct release date.  The year next to the title appears by automation based on the entries on the release dates page. So having all the data accurate results in the page being accurate. No one will manually change that date next to the title.

Dear BluesmanSF,

I am very thankful for your kind reply and support.

It was premier not screened. Hence only artist, crew, celebrities and guest attended this event and that too be one time, so it was not for public.

We have never updated and made release date 2015 in IMDB. Maybe IMDB team can diagnose, who did this?

The movie even was not 100% complete that time and we got final DCP in Feb 8th, 2016 after 100% completion.

You can check this link: http://web.archive.org/web/20160119093827/http://dubaifilmfest.com/en/films/41752/bilal.html

They also says its premier

Then that's how I'd approach it. Not saying you need it changed for "marketing" or other reasons...saying that the information is wrong. Have you made a submission to remove the incorrect release date?

Premiers, by the way, can many times include tickets for sale to the public.  A premier doesn't necessarily mean private and not available to the public even if many/most are not.

Again...that's how I'd approach it.  The side is as interested as you to have correct and reliable information.

In all this, I can't help but wonder why you stated, "The movie was screened to Dubai Film Festival last year in December with the name of Bilal," though...

But good luck.

Dear BluesmanSF,

I have sent request to IMDB to correct the information and hope they will put correct information.

My initial statement was confusion, I agree. I meant premier that time also.

I see. Keep in mind, though, it would not be one or the other. A premier is still screened. A premier is simply the first screening. Premier doesn't't indicate, using the term alone, open to public or not. A premier can be open to public. Neither term indicates whether it qualifies for IMDb or not as neither indicates, to most readers here, whether it was available to the public or not. If I were you, I'd just say it plainly as available to public or not.
