Won't allow me to delete writer

A writer keeps adding himself to a film he should not have a credit on. He has been deleted before but now it doesn't even list him as an option to delete when we choose to edit/delete.

This is a big movie and this is a problem. It is almost as if his credit has been locked by IMDB ie maybe he knows someone.

How does this get fixed?

Hi Michael -

If the credit is not displayed within the Update form, it means that the credit is currently still processing.  Please try removing the incorrect credit again now and you should see the name within the online form.

In the meantime, can you confirm which exact credit and title you are referring to?  Do you have evidence you can post here to help verify the correct Writer credit for the film?

Hi thanks for the response. Yes that was the issue. I just got impatient because the press release came out that day and he keeps adding himself and shouldn't be.

Here is the proof for the only two writers that should ever be on the film. It shoots in two weeks and seeing as I am working directly with the director it's safe to say no other writers will touch this:

Thanks for your help. Is there a way to lock it now so he can't add again? We have worked on this film tirelessly for more than 5 years so as you can imagine I am passionate and protective of it.

Thanks again,

Michael

Hi Michael -

Looking at the title page here, I noted that there are currently only two Writer credits (for "Michael Caissie" and "Charles Huttinger"), both individuals are referenced in the article you provided.  Has the incorrect credit already been removed?

Yes thank you. Is there a way to lock it now to make sure he doesn't add again?

Hi Michael -

I noted that there is a third Writer credit listed again on the title page here, is this the incorrect credit listed again?

Yes. Can you please block him from adding himself. He will not be recognized as a writer by the director, producer or the WGA. Thanks :)

Hi Michael -

Thanks for confirming the information.  The credit has been removed and further steps have been taken internally to help prevent the incorrect credit from resurfacing.

Hi Michelle - there is another addition to the writers on HANGMAN. Phil Hawkins was an earlier director on the project whose changes to the script were not used and hasn't been part of the project for more than a year.

Can you kindly remove him, and block him from being added again?

Thanks,

Michael Caissie

Hey i guess the producers offered the credit to him and where I don't agree with it, it will be in the crawl at the end of the film.

So - anyway to just move it to MISC category so it doesn't show up under writers?

Thanks,

Michael Caissie

I believe the main point is how the person is credited. This person is now credited as "additional writing" so that's why he's probably added to the writing section. I'm not sure is it even possible to move it.

At least now when his name is added to the credits, it cannot be removed again.

But is that even a credit for writing? It isn't on the list of credits you sent. It will be in the scroll at the end of the movie, so I don't think it should be so prominent on your site. Charles and I are WGA and his name is between ours. We worked on it for 5 years, he worked on it for 5 weeks. Seems like a misc job to me, not a writing job.

I'm not fully sure, but I would suspect it belongs to the "writing" section. The word "additional" kinda already implies (at least to me) that he's not one of the main writers. But like I said, I'm not fully sure.

At least you could add Sequence numbers ("Order"). More info on the guide.
