I was trying to add missy and master to the master character page and it doesn't seem to work. Missy is the female master and on the original series there are episodes where the credit just says "master". I whould like to add both of them. Can someone help me?

Jonathan: What show are you referring to, and which "Master" character is involved? There are a lot of character pages for characters named "Master". See http://www.imdb.com/find?q=master&&s=ch&&exact=true&ref_=fn_ch_ex -- there are at least 13 of them.

Also, within the fictional context of whatever show it is, is "Missy" really the same person as "Master" such that they should be listed on the same character page? (Since I don't know what television show this is, I'm not ruling out that possibility, but I would need a better explanation before recommending that.)

I forgot to mention that its doctor who. Missy is in the 2005 series season 8 2014 as a female reincarnation and if you look at the credits of the original show (1963-1989) that actor playing the master is often credited as just "master" and is not on the character page. If you don't know anything about doctor who then look it up on the internet and its 50+ years history.

Jonathan: Knowing that this is from "Doctor Who" explains a lot. The character you are talking about is The Master (http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0009588/), who has in the past been played by men. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_%28Doctor_Who%29

Apparently the character has now regenerated into a female body, uses the name "Missy", and is now played by Michelle Gomez (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0327056/). Also, not all of the episodes in which male actors played "Master" have been listed on The Master's character page.

I will check this situation out further and try to write up an explanation later about how to fix this, but hopefully another contributor here will get to this and explain it before I do.

Jonathan: The links were for other people who might be reading this thread. I know you know who the Master and Missy are, but, as you can see from earlier in this thread, a few hours ago those names meant nothing to me. And, I'm guessing, there are other people on this board who didn't know who they were, either. Since I am hoping that another contributor here will give you advice, I wanted to post the links so that the other contributors will have the context with which to advise you.

I've just been testing this, and I can't figure out how to get credits for the character Master (such as in http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0811355/) added to the character page of The Master, much less for the character Missy (such as in http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3834042/). I tried starting from the episode pages, as well as starting from the character page for The Master, but I haven't been able to solve the problem.

If anyone else knows, by all means please help out.

Jonathan: I have given this thread a "me too" vote in hopes that it might help get an IMDb staffer to respond here.
