Is my personal info now at risk due to change in IMDB to require logins just to look up cast member names?  What is IMBD getting now?  Why can't I just go to the site and get info without needing to give my email address???

Your statement of logging in as a requirement is false..
Notice in the upper right corner of the page where it says "Sign In"?????
I'm on Tom Cruise's page! I'm NOT logged in.

My statement is NOT false.  That is why I am complaining.  I opened the IMDB app and it required me to log in (and join!) in order to access info that used to be free.

By free, I mean, available without giving personal information.  the login required an email address.

Hi Aper,

Could you share additional details on what information you are looking to access?

I can confirm that an IMDb account is not required to browse information and content on IMDb or the IMDb mobile app.

However if you are looking to access free movies and TV, you will be required to sign-in to an account.

All i did was open the IMDB app on my Android LQ-10 and it insisted that I log in.  To do that I needed to create an account and give my email address 9which can be used to link my data to lots of other data "out there".  I did not want to do that.  Worse yet, IMDB has no way to contact anyone in the company to complain or inquire without also signing up and giving email.  So I decided to do that.  Now I'm getting a run around about how IMDB can't possibly have done what it did.  So maybe it was a fluke.  I'm not happy.  (As for what I wanted to do, I don't remember the specifics.  I wanted to do what I always do:  find out who the actor was in a movie or TV show and see what else they have been in:  eg:  "Where have I seen that person before??".)  And maybe, just maybe, the app has been hijacked and someone is using it to obtain personal login info.
