Why are not all movies included? For example, I'm looking for information regarding a movie called Redemption. It is a documentary about our killing young, healthy dogs and cats in U.S. shelters.

Hi Bree Mize,

Redemption: The No Kill Revolution in America (2014) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3762926/fullcredits) is listed on IMDb.

There are many films and television productions that include the word Redemption in their title. Since this project is relatively unknown and you did not specify the full title, IMDb did not display the title in the search results.

According to IMDb's latest Statistics (http://www.imdb.com/stats), there are 3,290,086 titlesĀ  (Year Range: 1874 - 2025) listed on IMDb. There are 64,227 documentary films.

Hi Bree Mize,

Based upon your picture, you appear to be relatively young. IMDb strongly recommends that parents, guardians or other responsible adults supervise use of IMDb by children under the age of 13. IMDb has content that is not considered suitable for children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please tell your parents and/or guardians that you are using the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and request that they supervise you using the IMDb website.

I realized even though I answered your specific question, I could have provided you more information so you are less likely to have problems searching for films in the future.

As you discovered, searching for Redemption did not show you the documentary that you tried to find. There are currently 515 titles that include the word Redemption.

If you had known that the full title of the documentary is Redemption: The No Kill Revolution in America (2014), you would not have had any problem finding the page for that film. However, since you did not know the full title, IMDb makes it possible to find films and television programs based upon limited information.

One method is to use the Advanced Title Search (http://www.imdb.com/search/title). You can get to the Advanced Title Search by selecting Advanced Search (http://www.imdb.com/search/) from the drop down menu and clicking Advanced Title Search on the Advanced Search page.

Once I was on the Advanced Title Search page, I found Redemption: The No Kill Revolution in America (2014) by:

1. Entering Redemption in the Title section.

2. Selecting Feature Film, TV Special, Short Film, TV Movie, Video and Documentary in the Title Type section.

3. Entering dog in the Plot section; and

4. Clicking the yellow Search button at the bottom of the page.

This returns these search results:
Most Popular Short Films/Feature Films/Documentaries/Videos/TV Movies/TV Specials With Plot Matching "dog" and Title Matching "Redemption"
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?plot=dog&title=Redemption&title_type=feature,tv_movie,tv_sp...

1. Redemption: The No Kill Revolution in America (2014 Documentary)
2. Stay of Execution. Tails of Redemption (2013 Documentary)
