Why are clock times for cinema listings in 24hr format on iPad yet on my iPhone they show as am/pm? I looked in the settings to see if I could change this but nothing apparent.

Hi Cara,
May I ask, in which country are you located? It would also be helpful if you provided the following:
- the iPhone model and iOS version you are using
- the app version you are using
Thanks in advance!

The IMDb app uses your system settings on the iPhone / iPad for the display of showtimes.
Please go to your phone / tablet settings as appropriate and under "Settings -> General -> Date & Time" then switch on/off "24-Hour Time" and the kill / restart the IMDb app.
