Who updated this old actor’s page?

My great Uncle Jack Cheatham was a character actor in the 30s-40s, with 99% of his short roles uncredited. I’ve been doing family research and am very interested in his acting career. His IMDB page is very comprehensive and I am wanting to get in touch with the person(s) who updated it. It’s unusual in my opinion that so much information has been gathered for him. It must have been done by someone who knew his life & career well. How can I contact the person(s) who have updated his page?

IMDb can’t really reveal that information. Usually it’s someone close to the person/film/production, a ”film buff/historian”, or just a ”fan” of some sort. Sometimes people can find (or stumble) a good source of information and want to record/share that on IMDb. So basically anything goes.

I figured as much regarding privacy issues, However there’s no way to make any sort of comment or post on the IMDB page itself in the hopes the owner might see it and reach out? Is this message board the closest I’ll get to such a thing?

Many day players at the old movie studio systems are well documented and are available online.
More than likely a single contributor did this page.
But as stated IMDb never reveals info on contributions.
But I would bet that the AFI listing from line 18 would be where a lot of this info came from and may be an interesting read.
More than likely also the reason your uncle was interesting was because he was typecast. The majority of his roles were cops. That sticks out "Big Time".
Have fun reading.....
