Where do I find the IMDb Number for a film. I have looked at a complete listing for a film that I typed in the search box -but when it comes up - I see no IMDb reference number for the film. Where is it? Thanks

Andy, I am not certain what you are asking.

If you submitted a suggestion to update to a film page, then the reference number would be on this page if you are logged into to your IMDb user account:
http://www.imdb.com/updates/history

If you mean the IMDb title constant for a film, then it is part of the link for a film. For instance, the link for The Shawshank Redemption (1994) is
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161.
The IMDb title constant is tt0111161.

Thanks for the response. My question still is where do I find the "title constant" number as you have states. (ie, if I need the number for a film and I bring up the film's title in the IMDb site - where is the number that you mention found.?) Sorry if I appear stupid, but I need these numbers for a few films and I just can't seem to locate them.

Go to the page for the film. Look at your browser's address bar to the address for that page. It's the part that says, "tt9999999" for example. A link to that page would contain it as it's that page's address. A person's page, for example, would contain "nm99999999" (name instead of title).
