What is the length limit for IMDb reviews? And can it be extended?

Hello. I’ve been using IMDb for a few years, but only recently started to actively post reviews. Sometimes they can get lengthy. For example I recently made a review for ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)’ which I had a lot of criticisms for, and the review ended up being VERY long. I usually write my reviews on a Notes application so I’m able to easily edit them throughout the day, and for it to be easier to access. Once I’m satisfied with the review I’ll usually copy and paste it on to IMDb and post the review. However when I pasted this review a big chunk of it was missing, and it didn’t allow me to finish writing it. What is the character limit for IMDb reviews, and can it be extended? Honestly I find it pretty dumb that there’s a character limit like that. Other sites like Letterboxd allow a lot more text, and while I prefer IMDb a lot more, something like this really bugs me when I Letterboxd doesn’t have that problem. Anyways yeah, I guess I’m going to try to maybe shorten the review, but I really hope an update can extend the limit, because I actually have longer reviews I haven’t posted, and I’m sure many people would want to extend the length. Especially for TV Show reviews, when you give a review for each season.
Thanks in advance for the people to help me.

I believe I read that the copy and paste method can add a lot of characters into the text that the site identifies and counts towards the total #. This can add up if you have line itemed your comments and/or have many paragraph breaks.

Thank you.
I definitely have a ton of paragraph breaks. I think I’m gonna try to remove those, and try to reduce some paragraphs to simplify so it can get accepted.

Hi ,

You may wish to use this online tool to reduce the size of your review:

You may also find the auto summarize feature in Microsoft word useful:

Hi eddy,

The maximum limit for a review is 10,000 characters, anything past this point will be discarded when you try to paste it into the review box.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Will

Thank you,

I guess I must try to shorten the reviews and try to keep below 10k characters.

However I do hope a future update can extend that amount.
