What department do production assistants belong in?

I know there is the dropdown for them in the "other crew" section but I'm seeing them pop up in other departments now and it just seems wrong. Should they are all be moved to the other crew section or is there a case for PAs being in the Art Department or Assistant Directors where I keep seeing them?

I always submit them to other crew because of this: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/assistant-directors/G3Z8ENTBLJ5FJ44R
Some lesser related credits should still be submitted to the miscellaneous crew section, such as runner, production intern, production assistant, and assistant to director

Unless a credit lists a specific job role, (the job title audio production assistant should be listed in Sound, for example), production assistant should be listed in the Other Crew section.

I agree but I want an actual IMDb opinion. I'm seeing things like "art department PA" and "set decoration PA" in the Art Department and things like "Floor Runner" and "Base Camp PA" in the Assistant Director. I generally delete them (and sometimes add them to Other Crew but I generally don't edit Other Crew").

If they always belong in Other Crew, IMDb should automatically move them to that section when the title includes "production assistant" or "pa". They do this for some other job titles, so I know it can be done.

Thanks for your post.
Production Assistants should be submitted to 'Other Crew'. If you come across incorrect instances please feel free to flag these to our editors via the 'edit' function.
