What is the connection between my IMDB Watchlist and my Amazon Instant Video Watchlist? Linked on unconnected? Plans to connect them?

I couldn't agree more, I would prefer they were linked and had sync capability including the IMDB app for phone and the Amazon apps for blu ray players, xboxes, and media extenders in general.
As is now, neither my watchlist nor my movie ratings sync between any one of five different ways I use these services. And, in fairness, I should add, that the reason it matters so much to me is that Amazon is my preferred way to rent streaming movies and IMDB has long been the best resource and community for movie info.
FWIW, if Amazon and IMDB offered this, it would make Netflix that much closer to obsolete.

While we're at it, I figure there should be an option that once you rate a movie, it is removed from you're watchlist, in the sense that it can't truly be rated til you've seen it, and once you've seen it, it's not really something that needs to be in a watchlist, unless there would be a separate "watch again" list for movies that you rated highly

IMDb's Watchlist is already aware of which titles are available for viewing on Amazon Instant Video and you can filter the list based on that (so that the list will only show you titles that you can watch online). At this time however there is no way to import or connect an Amazon watchlist.

As for removing a title from your watchlist when you cast a vote, there are pros and cons to doing that (some users don't like having titles automatically deleted/changed as a result of an external action). It's something that we may consider doing based on feedback/requests.

Add removing a title from watchlist if voted as a option. Leave the behaviour as is by default.

"IMDb's Watchlist is already aware of which titles are available for viewing on Amazon Instant Video and you can filter the list based on that (so that the list will only show you titles that you can watch online)"

misses the point, the point or question was about user created watchlists and ratings, like Netflix queue, so as to remember movies that a user wants to see while browsing the ever-informative IMDB app and site, and the ever-useful Amazon apps and site

"At this time however there is no way to import or connect an Amazon watchlist. "

there is a way, whether it will be offered or not, or is planned to be offered in the future is the question

"some users don't like having titles automatically deleted/changed as a result of an external action"

which is why I said "option", that's what an option does, it allows people to participate or not, so again, what you said is irrelevant

It would be useful being able to import and export lists - within the Amazon family it would really help the sites as it'd boost the number of lists on Amazon and LoveFilm.

Any update on this? This is something that would be really great to see. Unified watchlist on IMDB and amazon. The linkages are there already as mentioned previously. As Amazon becomes a more prevalent player in the streaming space, this could really be a boost to them. It could also help inform on what movies people are interested in having added to the streaming service via what has been added to IMDB watchlists!

The IMDb watchlist is my primary list for keeping track of what movies I've been recommended by friends and family. Integrating this list into my primary movie streaming ecosystem would be great. This should be a no-brainer considering that Amazon owns IMDb.

I sure wish (and believe Amazon is in a better position) I could import my watchlist to Amazon. Merging my rating would be a plus as well. My main watchlist is via IMDb, so I think it would generate a lot more revenue to do so. Were I Amazon I would have a team working on this before Netflix or other competitors beats you to the punch.

In case anyone else comes across this thread, as I did, you can log into your IMDB account using your Amazon credentials (just select other login options) and, providing you have used the same email address to sign up for both services, you can see all your previous IMDB ratings and watch list in Amazon Prime!! Hope that helps someone else!

Would still like it if this was the way that worked (it currently doesn't).
