Watchlist Sorting Ideas

I think it would be totally awesome if you could sort your watchlist by genre and film length. A lot of the times when I'm looking for something to watch I find that I'm usually in the mood for a specific. Sometimes I need something funny and other times I may be in a more serious mood. It would save a lot of time when looking through your watchlist. Searching by length would be useful as well since since there are times when you have an allotted amount of time like before work, if you want to go to bed by a certain time, if you have time to kill before going somewhere, etc.

Although a user cannot sort a list by Genre, they can refine (or filter) it by Instant Watch Options, genre, TV or Movie, In Theaters and on DVD,
You and This List, and User Rating,
.
To the right of your Watch list you should see above items listed. To expand on a section, click on the right arrow (">"). If you click on "View all filters", the Advanced Title Search page appears. As part of the Advance search a user can select Watch list.

Following on from Don's comment, here is your watchlist filtered by genre and sorted by film length:
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?genr...

You can hack that URL to get what you want or use the advanced search to do other things, like restrict by year or sort by votes here (and filter by a minimum number of votes if you want).

Many of the questions on IMDb's Get Satisfaction site involve search. We need to collaborate on a Search FAQ.

(I'm not an expert on this.)

Although we cannot sort the watchlist by country,
apparently we can include or exclude specified countries.

Examples:

This URL should show movies from the US or UK in your watchlist:
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?lists=watchlist&countries=us|gb

This URL should show movies in your watchlist that are not from the US or UK:
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?lists=watchlist&!countries=us|gb

Note the "|" vertical-bar separator (not comma) between the country codes.  Also, note the "!" exclamation mark (specifying exclusion) preceding the "countries" parameter name in the latter example.  (Apparently, this cannot be specified on the Advanced Search page.  It is necessary to edit the URL manually to specify this.)
