We are pleased to announce an update to your contribution experience. As of today, contributors can view the status of more data types than ever before! You will see the new option to “Track your contribution” or“View Contribution Status” where you can view the status of the item and if it has been rejected we will tell you why.

If you are using the mobile apps, mobile website or desktop website you can access this feature via the 'Track your contribution' button, which has been added to the submission email receipt. Additionally, if you are using the desktop website, you can also use the 'Track Contribution' button now found in your Contribution History page.

Clicking on the button or the links will take you to IMDb Contributor, our new contribution specific site where you will be shown the status of your request.

Please note there could be a small discrepancy between the wording ‘Track your Contribution’ and ‘View Contribution Status’ – we are aware of this and are working to eradicate any confusion and mixed messages.

IMDb is passionately committed to providing new ways for our users to engage with our content and we appreciate your continued support of IMDb.

Please see our Help Guide for more information.

Thank you all for your continued submissions and support!

Your help page has a list of data types that are excluded from tracking. One is "Company". I have company credit submissions from today which do display tracking links.

"Plot Outlines" and "Summaries" are also listed. The only recent plot edits I have are part of submissions which also include plot keywords, but they do have tracking links, and the plot edits are listed as approved. So why are they said to be excluded from tracking?

Hey Peter,
Company filmography submissions are now available and display tracking links, new companies are currently not.

As for Plot Summaries and Outlines there are certain technical reasons behind why we currently do not have the ability to view the status of these submissions, we are working on this though!
As you say below Cast and Crew filmography do not have the links as they are also a work in progress but are not currently available.
Thanks

And on the other hand, some rejection are not explained.
See https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/kindly-add-my-name-as-the-visual-effects-supervisor-on-a-fea... (or maybe the feature was not fully implemented as of Feb 21st?)

That post is about a crew edit, and crew edits are listed as excluded from the tracking links described in this announcement. It is true that the "beta" page does give a status for cast and crew edits, but this announcement does not mention the beta page. Perhaps the tracking for these sections is not yet ready for a full launch? (Rephrased to make it clearer.)

OK, so to be honest, I do not see so far what was gained by the "new data types", and the "IMDb contributor" (??) heralded in this announcement. Maybe it is just some more buttons for the existing data types, as pointed out by Jaime above?
Anyway, we will still be patiently waiting for the upcoming improvements.

I find it strange that we're supposed to submit feedback about the new Contributions History (Beta) page on a Praise thread. So here's a link to the problem report I just posted there:

See the answer there; it’s not a problem, merely acknowledged (on the page) as yet unimplemented functionality.
