The black screen with eternal spinner appears on my desktop PC virtually every time I click "Watch on iMdB". My remedy is merely to re-load the page, then it displays the video -- unless Amazon chooses not to, which is happening more frequently now than in months past.

...and the weird format of the paragraph above, with the image inserted as a character after the end of the last line of text, is not my doing.

Problem is , I don't even get the spinner anymore. It just stays dark. I've even uninstalled the app and reloaded it. Nothing. I'm almost done with catching up on Fringe, and I don't know what to do about it now. Should I go as far as deleting the folder in the system? Starting from scratch?

It sounds like the page-load is being interrupted (or interfered with) by some other page request. I don't know enough about Android to make a recommendation for a fix.

The system folders are like the registry in older versions of windows.
All settings and preferences are stored there.
I think I will try that and see what happens.

  • Phone is Alcatel VLE5
  • Android Go edition 8.1.0
  • App installed from Google play store, version 8.0.3.108030201
  • Fringe, season 4, episode 13, A better human being
  • Problem: app let's me get as far as choosing to play using IMDb, then goes to black screen, no spinner or anything. It looks like it wants to play but goes nowhere.
It started after a normal update on Google play store auto update.
As far as recreating, it happens now every time I try to play the episode or anything at all.

Thanks, Michael.

It sounds like you're experiencing this same issue with other IMDb TV titles, trailers, etc., is that correct?

Now everything is good. It's working on everything. I have no idea how, but I'm up and running again.
