Screen Shots in addition to where it came from makes things easier for staff.

Seems redundant. Are they really taking people's word and not verifying? If they are verifying then it doesn't really make things easier...

Thanks for reaching out about this with these links, and the screengrab Ed. These credits have been submitted on your behalf and you should see them live on the site shortly.

Cheers.

It makes it easier for the data editors and staff. Your approval will speed through faster when you make it easier for them.
The screen grab that you made mention of was viewed by you so as to identify the precise moment that you name was shown. You were there. Pausing it and taking a screen grab of it takes a minute at best. It also makes it easier when the data editor knows what he or she is looking for. If you submit a lot of data and you have been providing quality data every time, they will see this effort and you become a highly trusted contributor. If everyone did this the editors could handle a higher volume every day. Helping them helps us contributors.

I totally understand what you're getting at and likewise understand how quickly a screen grab can be made just seems an odd point along the way to offer up that info. I would happily send them screen grabs with the initial edit request—is that even allowable?—to forgo this whole step. Once it has been declined and needs to be verified it seems presumptuous for the submitter to add a screen grab. If it needs to be "verified" seems odd that anything the submitter would add could speed up the process... Like "no, declined" then "oh a screen grab from the original submitter that could potentially be falsified, yes! approved!" Seems like it would still need to be furthermore "verified" and the screen grab, again at this juncture, just seems like busy work... An over-achieving Eddie Haskell type move.

Happy to do it. Just strikes me as odd.

Don't think I submit anywhere near the quantity of data that you are referring to although I've never really had issues submitting (in fact I think I had this credit and someone obviously had it removed) with the majority going through quickly.

Screen grabs are used frequently here. When the screen grab has multiple credits at once it is easy to verify because those others on screen are usually already in the credit list..  When the screen has a single credit, multiple grabs or the URL would be needed. You get used to what they need if you do it often enough.

Cheers

This instance is peculiar in the sense that it appeared that someone tried to erase the entire US/LA crew’s credits so unfortunately not sure any of the surrounding credits are in.

If that is the case, it's too bad you did not mention that they were erased en masse. IMDb would have investigated that and contacted whomever did that and gave them a warning about mass deleting valid data.

Hi MC MC,

I can confirm that your credits (and others) weren't removed en masse, it doesn't look like the director of photography credit was ever live on the episode, it was rejected by staff pending further information.

Regards,
Will
