IMDb has a rule: a cast/crew member needs to have at least one credited entry in the database before his/her uncredited work will be listed in IMDb.
Why are so many people without any on-screen credits, in any movie, able to be listed in IMDb?
And why is it so hard to delete these entries? And why, when deleted, are they able to be added back so easily? It would be nice if some of these deletions were permanent since many of these folks aren't ever getting an on-screen credit.
IMDb is apparently unaware that people are adding in performers/crew in one step and then adding in the word "uncredited" as an attribute in a later step, thereby sidestepping any IMDb safeguards. Bottom line: IMDb should add in new software to take care of this problem. It wouldn't be that hard to do.
Some examples of uncredited-only performers/crew that have lingered forever:
1) Adult film actress Tomi La Roux (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0478994/reference)
2) Adult film actress Lyn Cuddles Malone (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0540461/reference)
3) Actor Fred Newman (II) (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0628092/reference)
4) Director/Writer Arnold Stevens (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0828244/reference)
Here's hoping IMDb will come up with a fix. It would certainly save me a lot of grief.
