trying to find scifi movie-set in space

First time asking for this kind of help, so crossing my fingers.

In the 90s I saw a movie that I think was on the syfy channel but that's a guess. It had two main characters. A space freighter capt and a stow-away woman. I remember the turning point pretty clear which was the capt calculating either the amount of fuel or oxygen. He had originally calculated there was enough, but there was some crucial piece he forgot and recalculated learning that there was only enough for one of them.
I don't remember clearly what happened then but I believe one of them put their self out into space to save the other.
I think it was about 90-120 minutes.

Curious if anyone knows what the movie was as I've looked on/off for years and never found it.
thx in advance.

Forgot about this movie, but it's not it.  The movie I forget is definitely no later than 2000 and was not in the orbit of a planet. Most of it was set in deep space.
As best I recall the two actors were not big names at least at the time.
The man reminded me of Ben Browder lookswise when he was on Farscape. I don't recall what the actress looked like at all but would guess she was in her 20s at the time.

I'm almost positive it was a made for tv film that never went into theaters.

Your post helped me to find a way to search. This one is very similar,
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108380/?ref_=ttmi_tt
but the one I remember only had 2 main actors where this has 5 apparently. But I wonder if it might be based on the same book.
I think the one I recall may have been one of the Sci-Fi channels first movies when it was starting for some reason.

FOUND IT and THANK YOU. You putting up Gravity made me think to use adv search which started me down a path. Ultimately it was a search engine that led me to it.
The winner was The Cold Equations from 1996. Found it because there have been several versions from the original story going back to 1962. Oh and it was a made for tv movie when the Sci-Fi Channel was called Sci-Fi.

Really funny that the actress was Poppy Montgomery Poppy Montgomery who I don't remember as the actress at all. The actor was Billy Campbell who I really don't recognize now.

Yea if it'll ever be repeated.

The IMDb page (standard view, not Reference view) links to it on Amazon Video:

I played a few seconds, enough to see the first 2 credits, and the video is the film that is listed on IMDb.
