I'm still trying to figure out why some watermarks are ok and there seems to be a theme that those at an event are ok.  Is that why this one is ok?

Guessing this one should be a problem as well, right?

As mentioned in the IMDb Image Guidelines.
We do not allow the following:
Images displaying third-party ownership or branding, such as watermarks. Watermarks of the title's creators, such as the production company or TV channel, are acceptable.
Writing as a long-time contributor and not as an official representative, some updates which break the site's rules can still end up being posted on the IMDb. It's unfortunate that some well-intended users may not understand or, on another hand, ignore the rules.

Thanks for submitting a report. Please wait for a response from an IMDb representative.

I don't think it's done on purpose as even having read stuff sometimes it doesn't resonate until kicked in the teeth.
What's funny is that generally I think most of the images that are problematic are uploaded by "official" or imdbpro sources (based on locked names). The problem is trying to clean them up and getting imdb to not decline the fixes. I didn't realize until I was just scanning my history that the above image with the dvr bar I had submitted for removal and it was declined for "Does not meet contribution guidelines." What the heck does that mean? I almost feel like they think I'm uploading that image. Trying to be helpful on images is truly a perilous task as little is explained. I wish they would get rid of the current reasons for declining and come up with a new set that actually makes sense. Wouldn't that be cool.

Hi MikeTheWhistle -

Thanks for reporting the two images, I have now removed them and reached out to the contributor to clarify our policy.  Cheers!
