There is an account with my name, the wrong birthday, and NO EMAIL ADDRESS. How to delete or otherwise take control?

Hi. My name is Skyler Knopp.
Years ago, my sister created an IMDb account for me, yet she did not use an email address, and she put the wrong date for my birthday.
Now that I am beginning to accumulate credits, I need to gain control of that account, or otherwise delete it entirely.
Is there a process for this? What should I do?
Thanks,
Skyler

Skyler: To be clear, are we talking about an IMDb name page or an IMDb user page or both?

I see an IMDb name page under your name at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6220198/. That is where your credits get listed (assuming that you are the Skyler Knopp referred to on that page; if not, you will need to have your credits listed on a new name page for "Skyler Knopp (II)" to distinguish yourself from the Skyler Knopp of "Electric", "The Novelist", and "Caught Dead").

However, there is no birthdate listed on that name page, so I don't know what the birthdate might have to do with it.

In addition, you may also have an IMDb user page. That is the page that represents you as a user of IMDb (who may or may not necessarily be a person with any film or television credits). I don't know what page that would be, but its URL would start with http://www.imdb.com/user/ur..

When we talk about IMDb accounts on this board, usually we are referring to the account associated with a user page.

If you are able to log in to IMDb, you can go to https://secure.imdb.com/register-imdb/details and correct your birthdate there and go to https://secure.imdb.com/register-imdb/changeemail and correct your e-mail address there. Those changes are for your user account, and don't necessarily have anything to do with your name page.

I don't think this will answer all your questions, but hopefully you can provide more details so people here can advise you.

Thank you so much for the awesome reply.
I am talking about that page, yes. (the one with The Novelist, Electric, etc..)
I thought a birth date was listed somewhere.. well, if it's not listed, no harm done.
I'm thinking no-one actually is "in control" of such an IMDb page. That it's public domain, sort of.
Again, thank you so much.

Skyler: That's correct. Your sister has no involvement with http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6220198/ any more than anyone else does. Assuming you are a registered and logged-in IMDb user, you can submit edits to that page by clicking "Edit page" at the bottom of the page and continuing through the process. Or you can go to the pages of the titles you worked on, click "Edit page", and submit your credit via the title page (and for television episode credits, I strongly recommend going that route).

Nobody is "in control" of that name page except for IMDb.com, Inc.

If you decide to subscribe to IMDbPro, you can add photos and a resume to the page, and also provide contact information (such as an agent or manager) which will be accessible on the IMDbPro site. But that is optional; you should only subscribe to IMDbPro if the functions of the Pro site are relevant to you.

Good luck!
