I love the movie "The Island" I have it on DVD I watch it a lot. It stars Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson. I just realised today that the English Track on the DVD is Dolby Digital 2.0 while the French track is Dolby Digital 5.1 This makes absolutely No sense. This is the first time I have ever seen a DVD without a English 5.1 track. Are all the DVDs of this Movie the same way? I find it really Lame. I thought I bought this movie in a store. I thought I bought it at launch. The fact that I have Dolby Digital 5.1 surround I am considering repurchasing this movie. If I can find a copy with a 5.1 surround English track. I may even check out the Blu-ray edition. the webpage about this movie on imdb.com mentions DTS and Dolby. This movie is from 2005 so its not like it was a re-release of a VHS movie. This is also a Dual Layer Disc so its not like there isn't enough room for Multiple Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks.

According to DVDCompare.net, it looks like you got the Canadian edition of the movie

That would make sense I am from Canada. But still confusing. All my other DVDs have English 5.1 Dolby Digital. Not sure why the Canadian version would have French in 5.1 and English in 2.0. even on this movie case the title in English is Large and the title in French is Small. I could understand if the French was large and the English was small because it was released in the province of Quebec where most people are French speaking and would only listen to the French Dub

Thank You Very Much though. I've never been to that website before.
