I'd love to (night) date Adam from Only Lovers Left Alive - I'm afraid, though,  that Eve wouldn't approve

I never saw 'Let the Right One In,' which got great reviews so I'm interested to see. Of the ones I have seen, which aren't many, True Blood or Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I noticed that the first several options have almost no votes; perhaps switch the order so people who are unfamiliar with the first options will continue to look at the list?

But there is that typical (mostly unacknowledged) problem that counters what you are requesting that many list writers often overlook by placing the most popular projects at the top of the list then the opposite happens and the rest of the list gets overlooked.

I'll rearrange the list a bit sometime Monday.

If it's a "Title Poll" I usually go to the GS thread, go to the Original List, and sort by My Rating.

In this case, 3 of the options have 9's from me... and the option I chose is the one where the romance (& story in general) is the most mature.

That's very true, Stephen, and a good point. I have always liked polls that serve as resources, as well, so I tend to like polls with little-known titles in them and your point certainly serves that purpose, too. At any rate, it's your poll so arrange it how you like, of course; it was only a -- well, since it was a question, I wouldn't even say suggestion so maybe -- quasi-suggestion. : )

I ended up scattering several of the top vote-getters to the relative top of the list. Sorry. Not much of a compromise. Not having AC in my bedroom has made me a bit cranky and lazy and it's only the beginning of crappy summer weather.

I vote for "A Discovery of Witches"

It's the most mature take on the genre that I have seen.

If you enjoyed True Blood, you will like Midnight, Texas.

It's based on work by the same author who wrote the novels True Blood was based on.

Unfortunately the fu--ers cancelled it after 2 seasons. Two great seasons though, well worth the watch.

Incidentally, this show features a romance between a Vampire and a human... FYC, Stephen.

Can you verify that the series is a romance series? The genre isn't listed on its IMDb page.

There is a significant amount of "romance" on the show... perhaps just slightly less than "True Blood".

Stephen: FYC: Vampire Academy (2014)

It had more action and mystery and less romance; and the film had it's flaws, but I think it's worthy of inclusion.

More FYC:

Legacies (2018-)
Shadowhunters (2016-2019)
Embrace of the Vampire (2013) [or the 90s version, if you prefer.]

Before I add any more, can you verify if any of these are under the romance genre? I'm not going to add the genre to works I've never seen before. Vampire Academy isn't listed as romance.

Shadowhunters (2016-2019) is on the list. It's properly listed under the romance genre.

In Vampire Academy the romantic stuff is very tangential. Leave it out.

Embrace of the Vampire is very much a Romance movie, even more so than it is a horror / thriller.

Legacies is of a very similar flavour to "The Vampire Diaries" which is on your list, so yes, it should be included.

I've requested that romance be added to the respective pages of Legacies and Embrace of the Vampire.

Peter?
I believe the list is settled.

True Blood (2008–2014) is one of my favorite vampire series, I'd like to suggest The Originals (2013).

I did not watch "The Originals" - I had had enough of creepy Klaus and Elijah in TVD.

But as part of the TVD Universe that show probably qualifies.

Have you seen "Legacies"? The overgrown teenager in me enjoys it.

The Originals isn't listed under romance. If you feel confident enough to add the genre to the work, I'll add it on.

I'm surprise because the story similar with True Blood, a male vampire grew affection toward a lady warewolf who was carrying a hybrid child of his baby brother.

Went and submitted the romance genre to The Originals page. Added it as an option.

I've only seen a little of True Blood and Only Lovers Left Alive.

True Blood I did not like at all, it is one of the very few series I have stopped watching without finishing the season I started.

Only Lovers Left Alive does not suck at all, a great film that gets my vote.
