Pool, or billiard, I cringe when I see actors pretending to play pool or snooker, their eyes aren't focused, they have no strong handle on the stick and they get up one micro-second after the hit so the cue ball doesn't even go straight and even a non-expert can tell that (and then you hear that 'hole' sound... yeah, right!) I'm baffled by the number of actors (especially male actors) who can't even pretend to play real billiards, except for movies like The Hustler or Sherlock Jr.

Don't you just love it when the shot of the upper body of the actor, shows that the big end of the stick is arching and the actor is moving their whole arm instead of forearm only! Then they cut to the cue ball striking the object ball and the cue reverse rotating! (English) That drives me nuts!!!
And almost anyone can be taught to play pool so as to look good in a scene with about 6-8 hours of fundamentals lessons. They never do this. But they gotta get a Martial Arts guy and spend weeks in training!

Reminds me of how annoyed I get when actors don't even try to look like they're playing an instrument. Like when they strum the bass. Or just hold the neck without moving their fingers around. Or shake their head back and forth when playing a bass or woodwind instrument (like that does something) and don't even attempt to push keys/buttons/valves in any convincing manner.

  • I was a baller for like 7 years, so basketball def.
  • Dodgeball, I was KILLER at that game in gym class.
  • I'm good at volleyball and tennis.
  • I used to "surf" with my cousins every summer (technically we were using a windsurfer without the sail and it's Canada so waves are pathetic... so I'd probably suck doing legit surfing but who knows)
  • I can swim, took lessons for like 10 years, but I always doggie paddle when I have the choice
  • Sometimes I'm good at bowling, but my skill level on any given day is a complete fluke

I have that problem once in a while too. I don't have a thing to type so I shoot blanks.
How did you do that? Just hit the space bar and hit submit?

I only had a Rubber suction cup Dart Gun. LOL
Halt or I'll Suck your brains out!

At age 15, I was 5' 8" and 80lbs. Calista Flockhart sized! Was in a fire. Burnt over 45% of my body. Cancer and burns will consume your internal resources. Was 160 and 5'11" at Graduation. Should have been 6' 2-4" if not for the injuries. I still have a foot that is one size larger than the other on a leg that's 1/2 an inch shorter! I walked like Grandpa McCoy (Walter Brennan, The Real McCoy's) for 5 months before corrective plastic surgery! I was a lucky one though. Just the left leg, arm, and back scars. Missed my face! Unfortunately....I still have a face made for radio. LOL
I have always looked like a Cop though. Gotta go to Central Casting. Just moved here to LA area a few months ago!
