Joe,

For your consideration:
1. The Theory of Everything (2014)
2. The Imitation Game (2014)
3. Interstellar (2014)
4. Hidden Figures (2016)
5. Frozen (I) (2013)

I'm a fan of Stephen Hawking, Alan Turing, Kip Thorne and Katherine Johnson. I appreciate the use of fractal in the song "Let it go."

I might say that 'Night Crawler' misses on my tom 30 list. It was a shocking cool movie. I would say - at least 10 is a minimum to pick for a decade. 10 is 1 for each year! So everybody has to pick his personal best movie for each of the ten years. I would stumble through the years, finding the best of every year. Because I like so many good movies. That's hard enough.

In view of that I've rated more than 4000 movies on the database, the real unimaginative movies might get a 5/10 from me, because they might be entertaining somehow, but surely show a lack of quality. That are e.g. the countdown horror movies. you can watch them beside, but they're not worth paying full attention.

When a movie gets a 10/10 from me, I was enlighted of the movie. The makers did well to get my attention after watching pretty more than 4000 movies. (IMDb wasn't en vogue 20 years before, now surely IMDb is a place for every movie dude, so there surely were tons of productions I saw when I didn't know I can rate that later on a website) Many of my ratings base on feeling and remembering movies 20 years ago or something.

For every decade 10 movies is a pretty short number. That is what I wanted to say.

Ok, Joe. My Top 5:

1. 'Avengers: Endgame'
On my opinion the movie was justly hyped, because it's the peak of a 12-year-epos, that got it's climax in an epic movie, bonding up all the stories of earlier movies of that movie series in one big showdown! What a climax this year! You know where the $2.797 bn came from.

2. 'Avengers: Infinity War':
It was the big preparation of the great final movie. It was big, leaving many fans like me with the thought that there can be only a bigger one. And this promise was held in the concluding movie.

3. 'Mother!'
Again a great movie of Darren Aronofsky, depicting both testaments. It's a big movie idea. I know that many people can not cope with it, but it shows peoples behavior on earth, telling it  in a similie on the bible. That was a very deeply experience for me at cinema. It was a shocking view on that human matter. But it was executed verry clear and wise.

4. 'The Artist'
It was a funny and fresh look an the old b/w genre. The story was fresh and it was excellently executed. Jean Dujardin held a homage on the old stars. I did like it and even cried a tear on the dispair of George Valentin and the fresh talent. The end made me happy as can.

5. 'Interstellar'
One of the greates space movies ever. I like it, because it centers on mankinds suffering on being dependent on the circumstances our planet allows. Maybe mankind will find better ways in the future, but as long as weird ideologies inhibit our options, we  are damned on this planet. And as long we disrespect our planet, we are doomed to extinction. But when we respect all good and usefull knowledge we have, further generations may survive and might go where no man has gone before. ;)

My tip-top is easy and won't be a surprise to anyone who was around the board two years ago and heard me chattering on about it incessantly, lol: The Florida Project could take my top ten spots. :)  I promise, though, I'll get my other four to you soon.

If it's not too late for my picks... Well, that's hard, but I doubt situation will change significantly during the remainder of the year, so there, my picks in chronological order:
1) Drive (2011)
2) The Guest (2014)
3) Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
4) Glass (2019)
5) Joker (2019)

Ok, I think that I have my list. I mean I do have a list but I will continue to change it in my head -- but I won't change it here online. : )

One little problem I had was the difference between "best" and "favorite" but I sort of tried to draw it down the middle. Anyway, here goes:

1. The Florida Project (surprise, surprise, lol)
2. Disobedience
3. Tree of Life
4. Summer 1993
5. Lady Bird

I feel wrong to not include a film called 'Kedi' but I think I can keep my promise not to change the list. :)

01) 'Avengers: Endgame'
02) 'Avengers: Infinity War'
03) 'Interstellar'
04) 'Black Swan'
05) 'Mother!'
06) 'Avengers'
07) 'Rush'
08) 'Hereditary'
09) 'The Help'
10) 'A Monster Calls'
11) 'MacBeth'
12) 'Bohemian Rhapsody'
13) 'Joker'
14) 'Hugo Cabret'
15) 'Pelé'
16) 'Life of Pi'
17) 'Drishyam' (2015)
18) 'The Wolf of Wallstreet'
19) 'Inception'
20) 'Grand Budapest Hotel'
21) 'The Artist'
22) 'Enchanted Kindom' (2014)
23) 'Lalaland'
24) 'Chicken with Plums'
25) 'Dangal'
26) 'The Kings Speech'
27) 'Coco'
28) 'Zoomania'
29) 'Samsara'
30) 'The Revenant'

I could pick a 30 more of them. And I think it's a pretty tough decision to pick only 5 of them. I think it would be better to pick five of each genre, creating 10 to 20 polls as a series. Because the 2010s were such creative that there were dozends of good movies last times. Everyone can find big and bigger movies in the last decade. It's booming like nothing else, I guess.

Sorry, Joe! These are just a few examples. For a whole decade I think 20 to 30 (or more) titles where the best ammount of choice. There are at least 2 excellent movies each year, sometimes more. I'm not really happy about pickin' only 5. I will allways have the feeling that I'm unfair to other titles. If you would blackmail me to squeeze out 5 - and not more, I would say Avengers: Endgame, Mother!, The Kings Speech, The Artist & Black Swan - but don't do that, please. ;)

I have always liked to make this type of tops, and I also felt that I excluded many titles from my top 5 and made my own top 50 list and soon I will probably take it to 100.

Oh geez, I'm really sorry but the fact that I didn't include 'Kedi' has been nagging at me almost incessantly, lol. If it's no inconvenience, could you replace 'Summer 1993' (Estiu 1993) with Kedi? If it's a bother at all, though, don't worry about it, of course. :)

Too bad my Top 5 wasn't included, since none of my picks are present in other people's entries (unlike, for example Endgame, which is present in three entries), i.e. it would make the poll more varied.

Since you're relatively new to IMDb, you probably aren't aware that the poll creator can add your option (postpublication) and repush it so it will belatedly appear in the live poll.

Just a lil patience is needed.
