Spoilers in news articles

Yesterday (23/04/15) A news article featured a character from the new Avengers movie as confirmed for the next movie in the series (effectively showing them to survive the film). Along with this, it was then revealed that a character indeed doesn't make it into the new film(s).

Before I even had a chance to see the film my viewing experienced was spoiled by IMDb's lack of alerting for spoilers in news articles, or removing them from the front page.

It is quite apparent from past posts here that this isn't a new issue arising! Any chance of doing something about it?

Hi Joe -

The articles appearing on our site are created and submitted to us by our news partners. The news articles they share with us are published exactly as the news partners have written them.  Please note that if there is a known spoiler within a news article we will make sure that the article is not pinned to the NewsDesk on the  IMDb homepage.

As you are upset that a spoiler was mentioned within the article content, I encourage you to visit the site of the news partner responsible for the article in question (check the article for a direct link to their site) to report any concerns you may have.

Michelle,

Thank you for the reply.
I understand what you are saying, it's just been unfortunate lately that with a lot of new films coming out, spoilers to these are too easily visible. Almost to the point it isn't worth being online until you have seen it.
I realise it is mainly at the fault of the production companies themselves, what with the many trailers spoiling all the fun before you even get to the theatre.
My attempt here was just to reduce the amount of too-easily viewable 'spoilers' to some of the fans.
Thank you for your time all the same.

Regards,

Joe

Thanks for your feedback Joe, I understand the frustration.  As mentioned above, if you do ever encounter a newsdesk article containing a spoiler on the IMDb homepage, please report it and our staff will review it.
