Hi IMDB-App Team, i installed your android app, but when i browse my list i got only the english movie titles und the plot in english: My smartphone has the german system language and maybe it is possible to add a language-selector to your app, so that i see the german "imdb display names"? When i use the desktop imdb.com i get the german titles.

Hi bitadmin,

since I have my Android app in French, I guess it shpould be possible to configure it accordingly.
Tap on the person icon (upper right), then on the menu (3 vertical dots), there is a parameter option where you can localize.

FYI, plots are only in English on IMDb. Amazon does not seem to care to provide an automated translation tool...

Does IMDB really get the plot from amazon.com? When i search for the movie Iscariot at amazon.com, i can't find a plot. On amazon.de there is a "short description" with the plot, which could maybe imported in IMDB?

My 2 cents : Most of the plots that I find are obviously written by contributors.

Hmm, do you think, it's a good approach to post this request (an automated import of, for example, amazon or wikipedia, or similar) in "idea"?

Hmm, yes and no :)
The source should be an authoritative and comprehensive one, I mean covering worldwide titles, not only US. Even Wikipedia is rather inconsistent. Moreover in that case, it is not easy for a robot to spot and retrieve the pitch or the synopsis in the English Wikipedia.
The past decades in IT history have proved that collaborative input is the most powerful content manager.

Yes, bitadmin, sometimes plots and posters are automatically imported to or from Amazon·Com (not necessarily the regional editions), upon being linked with IMDb. The feature could be improved, but it sort of already exists.
