is there a way to search for multiple genres at the same time? Eg. i want to search for a horror/thriller. Because using only ONE keyword, the results you get is overwhelming. I don't want to browse through 28K of "horror" movies until i find one that's worth watching.

Absolutely.

IMDb recently updated this genre page to include several links of this type:
http://www.imdb.com/genre/

Also, you can use the Advanced Search to combine any genres and other data:

Yep and you can use that to get this:

http://www.imdb.com/search/title?genres=horror,thriller&num_votes=3000,&sort=user_rating,des...

Advanced Title Search is your friend, learn how to use it and you'll need little else.
