Ad issues on the user review section

What's going on here? When I go to my reviews now, the top half of the page is obscured by a black box, which there seems to be no way of getting rid of!

I am trying to access IMDb using a desktop machine and the same thing happens on both Chrome and IE:

Was about to say exactly the same thing. It's the same if I want to write a review too, instead of the blank box for the review text it is completely obscured by a big black box that covers over three quarters of the page. I was wondering and worrying as to whether it was just me who was having this problem. And whether there was something wrong with my account or if somehow I'd violated terms and conditions, despite the fact I am probably one of the most civilised users on this site. So glad I'm not alone in this. Really hope it gets sorted, it's been like this since I first logged on an hour ago.

Please see (particularly the point on ad blockers): https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-brow... and let us know what happens .

Thanks for your reply Col, but I'm afraid this doesn't help. I'm not running any ad blockers (in fact, the only Chrome extension I do have running is New Tab Redirect) and clearing the browser cache didn't make any difference.

When I click on Reviews, after clicking on my pofile name, all the reviews display for an instant, before being masked over by this black surround - as per my screenshot which I attached in the initial post.

Also, the fact I tried this in IE and experienced the same behaviour would suggest it was never likely to be a Chrome-specific issue such as extensions or browser cache.

Like Bethany, I only started experiencing this problem today. I'm speculating here, but I notice that the IMDb logo changed too (again, see screenshot) and I'm wondering if it's part of a newly launched ad campaign, that hasn't been implemented properly.

I'm thinking this may be system wide as I also have the same issue posting reviews this morning! I am then met with this message at the bottom of the webpage:

Your review is not yet ready for submission.

By submitting this review you are agreeing to the terms laid out in our Copyright Statement. Your submission must be your own original work. Your review will normally be posted on the site within 2-3 business days. Reviews that do not meet the guidelines will not be posted. Please write in English only. HTML or boards mark-up is not supported though paragraph breaks will be inserted if you leave a blank line between paragraph.

Thanks Col!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Unable to review - Big black box blocking screen.

I go to review a movie and a large black box pops up blocking the majority of my screen.  I have tried the imdb site on two browsers Chrome and Firefox with the same issue.  Please see screenshot for reference.
