Reviews are randomly disappearing

I noticed how seemingly random reviews don't show up anymore. What makes the least sense is that I can still see every single review on my review page (if one is reported or deleted, it doesn't show there anymore). This is very bizzarre, there must be some bug in the system. Can you please look into this?

Hi Mattias,

The issue has been reported several times recently, including twice by Bethany. So maybe you can search GS to look at the whereabouts.

Hi mattias1996,

Have you got the details of an example and I can take a look?

Regards,
Will

Yes. For example, most of the episode reviews of 24 have disappeared. There's a user called Desertman84 who posted a review for nearly every episode, and now almost all of them are gone. I posted a review for Day 8: 12:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. myself, and it got "Approved", but doesn't show.

The worst is how my review of the Laverne & Shirley episode The Slow Child disappeared, since it so far is my favorite episode of the series.

I'm called mattiasflgrtll6 on imdb if you need to know.

Hi mattias1996,

I can see the issue here, as it is marked "spoiler" and is the only review on the episode it doesn't display on the main page. Any spoiler reviews are purposefully shielded from the main page to avoid users seeing key plot points when accessing it which makes sense, but if 100% of the reviews are spoilers there is no indicator that they exist on the main title page.

If you go here - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0629125/reviews?ref_=ttfc_ql_op_3 you can see that your review is live on the episode, you just need to access it via the "explore more" menu on the right side of any title sub-pages, though this shows as being greyed out at present which isn't ideal.

The same is true of the 24 episode, see here https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1463806/reviews?ref_=ttfc_ql_op_3

I've cut a ticket to the appropriate team.

Regards,
Will

Thanks for the help, but this is so unneccessarily complicated. Why not just keep it like it was before, that if a review was tagged with spoilers the review would not show up visibly on the bottom of the page, but you could still see the "1 review" link and click on it. Simple.
Right now you're hiding it so well that many people won't even realize an episode or movie has reviews since the User Reviews button is always greyed out. This is probably the worst redesign yet. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Thanks for your comments Ed, appreciate it. Quite honestly, I tag all my reviews as having spoilers automatically because much of the time I'll comment on a plot point or discuss why I agree or disagree with a character or event in the movie's story line. I take it seriously when the IMDb rules state they will remove a review if it contains a spoiler without warning. Even in the reviews of mine that you looked at, someone else might read them and say to themselves, gee, I wish I didn't know that going in, I would have rather judged it for myself. I might have to rethink my strategy in light of this situation, but if IMDb can alter their programming for a work around, I'd probably continue as I've been doing.

On these particular titles, we are talking about events that are 40-50 years old. What possible spoiler could there be.
Also by you attaching it with a spoiler tag you would have made a potential reader of the review after the fact upset because it contained no real spoiler. I'm 64. Because of one of your reviews that was tagged spoiler that really was not has made me want to watch it. Don't be so conscious of that review removal thing. It is mainly for blatant infractions. Let more see your work. Your reviews are so well composed that tagging them is a crime against us poor users wanting to read something intelligent. LOL

Reconsider you Spoiler tags in the future!
Thanks
