Remove incorrect IMDB entry for Ray Harryhausen

I am a long time fan of the late Ray Harryhausen. Contrary to the entry in the Visual Effects section, Ray Harryhausen did not make any contribution or have any involvement with Visual Effects for the film 'The Strange World of Planet X'. I have confirmed this with the Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation.

I have recently attempted to have the entry deleted as it is incorrect but have had my requests turned down with the standard 'Your contribution has been declined. We have been unable to verify your contribution.' In my latest attempt, I have even included an email address that will allow the IMDB staff to contact Connor Heaney the Collections Manager at the Foundation who has also been trying to get the entry corrected.

Could someone please explain exactly what proof is needed to have this incorrect entry removed ?

Kevin F. Stubbs,

Please include the 18-digit reference number of the submission so an IMDb representative can review the update and respond.

Kevin.
Hi.
I'm just a contributor here, but I know what IMDb likes and what it will and will not do.

1. They will not contact anyone.
2. They will not "probably'" take a second hand e-mail. (they are alterable)
3. They want a printed publication (news article from a reputable source) confirming what you say in a submission, along with a URL from where the news article came from.

Also the foundation while it may consider itself the #1 source on all things R.H., it may not know of a minor involvement or consultation at some bar, eatery or phone conversation. Let's remember here. There are some things we never know about our spouses!!! So to think that the foundation "Knows All" is at best questionable.

So dig up a verifiable news source and IMDb will be happy to look at it.
Thanks.

The Foundation is run by Vanessa Harryhausen, Ray's daughter. They have been trying to get this corrected for a while.

Exactly how do you link to a verifiable news source that would state or confirm that this did not happen ? Someone at some point posted this incorrect information from a source that the IMDB found acceptable. Without knowing what that source was so that it can also be verified, it's hard to link to a published source. Maybe what is needed is for the Foundation to publish an article discussing the films Ray particiapted in and somehwere in it they should state that 'The Strange World of Planet X' was not one of them. This would then become a verifiable source.

Funny thing, the IMDB had no problem accepting my Trivia note that states that he had no involvement in the film :-)

Hi Kevin, thanks for reaching out about this! I've taken a look and can confirm that the credit has been removed from the page. I see you mention a trivia item regarding this credit however no trivia item on this is live on the page.

Hi Elizabeth,

Many thanks for making the change. I will let Connor Heaney at the Foundation know that this mistake has now been corrected.

As for the trivia item, if you look up item #200720-100323-424000 you will find it currently appears as the last item in the Trivia section for the film. As the mistake has now been corrected, it should be removed.

Thanks again.
