I am always wondering how people can rate movies or tv shows even when they are not out yet? Newest example I just can think of is the upcoming TV show "Cult". The pilot wasn't aired yet but the show already has a rating of 4.7. How is that possible? You should disable the ratings for movies or tv shows which are not out or aired yet.

The TV Series title you referenced, "Cult", is currently listed with an incorrect 2012 release, since the title is displayed as being "released", this is why voting has been allowed for that title.

We have alerted our data managers of this title and your report of the incorrect release; they will take a look and make the necessary adjustments shortly.

Captain America Winter Soldier is showing an 8.5 rating when it's not due out till 4.4.14? This is crap seeing that tons of people i'm sure have viewed  that and made a decision to see the movie. Not everyone is going to notice the release date and wonder why it's already rated.

Wonder if Marvel slipped IMDb some cash under the table for this mistake?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered on March 13th. Since the earliest release date is in the past, and the film has been shown to the general public, voting is allowed

Michelle, I am concerned with the plethora of ratings of 1 for good movies due to primarily right wing political persons rating anything with African Americans involved at 1 - usually without even viewing the movie.  Have you considered doing like eBay and making any one giving the movie below a 5 answer a simple question (from the film).  My wife and I have watched thousands - yes over 3,000 movies based on IMDB ratings of 7.5 with at least 1,000 ratings.  Now we see that movies like The Butler or political movies by Michael Moore, etc. are only rated low due to the large numbers of clearly mean spirited 1 ratings.  Surely IMDB has discussed this shameful trend.

I am sorry because i am writing here, this is the first topic on the top. I do not see any "new topic" or something similar to open my suggested idea. If someone know how to open (or can, maybe i can't because of some reason please tell me) i have to suggestion for imdb and i think they are interesting.

1. add on new list actor, actress and directors which you like/love. It is much easier to fallow movies and watch older when you have list of them. Who loves to watch movies from time to time he founds some new actor/actress which start to like him/her but it wont every watching movies to watch only his/her movies.

2. Ignore list of movies which you wont to watch and to see mark on that movie. Why i think this is important. i.g. today i watch some trailer of some movie, read about it and i am not satisfied with it. Several months later friend suggest me - i have great movie for you, it is fantastic you must watch it! then i click on it and i see i put it already on ignore list because i spent time to see is it interesting for me or it not.
