Oliver Stone's JFK celebrated it's 25th anniversary of its USA release on 20 December 2016. The film's commercially and critically success succeeded in reopening congressional hearings into the assassination. The controversial film helped spark the passage of the JFK Act of 1992, which sought to declassify and make public 5 million government documents by October 2017. Those congressional hearings also determined that a conspiracy was probable, but did not detail who the gunmen were or the extent of the conspiracy. In retrospect, 50 years after the event, 25 years after the movie debut and with the public release of 5 million related documents, who shot John F. Kennedy?

Which conspiracy theory on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, many of which are discussed in the film J.F.K., do you find the most credible?

See the partial list of conspiracy theory candidates here:

JFK is a 1991 American conspiracy-thriller film directed by Oliver Stone.
It examines the events leading to the assassination of John F. Kennedy and alleged cover-up
- - -
The President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992,
or the JFK Records Act,
is a public law passed by the United States Congress, effective October 26, 1992.
It directed the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
to establish a collection of records to be known as
the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection.
It stated that the collection shall consist of copies
of all U.S. government records relating to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy...

On October 21, 2017

US President Donald Trump stated on his Twitter account
that he will allow the release of the remaining documents.
He tweeted:
“Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President,
the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened”

JFK (film) Legislative impact

The final report of the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) partially credited concern over the conclusions in JFK with the passage of the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, also known as the JFK Act.

The ARRB stated that the film "popularized a version of President Kennedy's assassination that featured U.S. government agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the military as conspirators." While describing the film as "largely fictional", the ARRB acknowledged Stone's point that official records were to be sealed from the public until 2029, and his suggestion that "Americans could not trust official public conclusions when those conclusions had been made in secret." By ARRB law, all existing assassination-related documents will be made public by 2017.

What is the conspiracy conection with ...
President John F. Kennedy,  mistress Judith Campbell Exner, Frank Sinatra, Chicago Mafia Sam Giancana, the CIA, Fidel Castro ... ??

Judith Campbell Exner

Judith Campbell Exner professed to be a mistress of President John F. Kennedy.
She was also involved with Chicago Mafia boss Sam Giancana
during the period she claimed to be Kennedy's mistress.
In a 1988 interview, Exner even stated that
she had arranged meetings between JFK and Giancana.
She also said she had met both men through her former lover, Frank Sinatra.
- - -
Judith Exner (January 11, 1934 – September 24, 1999)
was an American woman who claimed to be
the mistress of U.S. president John F. Kennedy
and Mafia leaders Sam Giancana and John Roselli.

Described as "stunningly beautiful,"
she claimed to have had an 18-month relationship with
then-Senator John F. Kennedy, beginning in 1960,
which continued after he was elected President of the United States

According to Michael O'Brien of the Washington Monthly,
on February 7, 1960, Frank Sinatra and Campbell were in Las Vegas,
where Sinatra introduced her to John F. Kennedy,
then a senator and presidential candidate.
In her 1977 memoir,
she said that she became one of JFK's mistresses
for a period of about two years,
frequently visiting him in the White House
after he was elected president.
Her account was supported by phone records and other documentation,
although Kennedy staff and supporters attacked her veracity
when she published her memoir.

A few months later in 1960, Sinatra introduced Campbell to "Sam Flood,"
who was actually Sam Giancana,
the leading figure in the Chicago Mafia.
She also became involved with him and knew his associate John Roselli
- - -
Salvatore "Mooney Sam" Giancana
(born Salvatore Giangana; June 15, 1908 – June 19, 1975),
better known as Sam Giancana,
was a Sicilian American mobster,
notable for being boss of the Chicago Outfit from 1957–1966.

It is widely reputed and partially corroborated by
the Church Committee Hearings,
that during the Kennedy administration,
the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) recruited Giancana
and other mobsters to assassinate Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Giancana reportedly said that the CIA
and the Cosa Nostra were "different sides of the same coin."
Documents released in 2017 showed the Sam Giancana
connection to the CIA and to Robert Maheu.

Judith Exner claimed to be the mistress of both Giancana and JFK
and that she delivered communications between the two regarding Fidel Castro

I am not sure what you are asking? Is there one conspiracy with all those parties working together or what the specific individual theories for each party. The answer options simply serve as headers to divide the theories. They don't espouse any specific one theory. But, instead allow for multiple theories within a given grouping or multiple groups with the listed party being the primary leader. As, stated below a conspiracy in its simplest form is two or more people acting together to commit an unlawful act. Regardless, the permutations are endless, as are the number of theories and variations. I am not looking to make the question as complicated as it could be. The purpose of the question is after of 50 years of discovery to ask who is most likely suspect(s).

The movie does a decent job of covering both the motivations and methods for many of the listed parties within the limited time frame and interweaving it into the narrative of the whole movie.

There was not cosnpiracy. But if I were to believe one, then I would choose the mafia.

This suggestion would have been a great poll last week, but I still find it timely and interesting.

A simpler way to view it with out getting into all the possibilities or motives, comes down to two questions.
1. a conspiracy is simply two or more acting together to commit an unlawful act. If you believe Oswald acted alone with out aid.
2. Was he able to fire 3 shots in 5.6 seconds using a Carcano bolt action rifle and accurately hit a moving target.

Yes, I agree the timing would have been perfect. Although, more documents were released the other day and yet more over the next 6 months, Plus, if anything is revealing, it likely be back in the news again.

I don't really believe in the conspiracy theories, but I do believe the military-industrial complex profited from the Vietnam War.

They had the money and connections to hire any assassins, but I am nor certain if they had the motive. Kennedy was as much of a war hawk as Lyndon Johnson.
