Production status not updating, means I can't add credited-as attribute

I've raised a ticket previously about this problem in relation to another title.

For some titles, I cannot add "credited as" attributes for cast because IMDB thinks that the title has not yet been released - even when it has a release date which is in the past. It seems to be related to titles where the most recent production status which is "older" than "released".

Anticipating this problem after my previous experiences, I added "released" for all the episodes of Agatha Raisin https://pro-labs.imdb.com/title/tt5015548/ but this has not helped with the credited-as problem, maybe because the most recent prod status is not the one I submitted.

IDs are:

#160608-095410-578000 (series level)
#160608-095426-987000 (episodes 1.1-1.8)

Can you invesitgate and see why this problem keeps happening.

Hi Martin,

I'm cutting an internal ticket to look into this.

Hi Martin,

Which episodes are you receiving the error preventing the "credited as" attribute.

Looking at the series the current status is:
Parent: Released
S1E0: Released
S1E1: Released (Derived from release date in the past)
S1E2: Released (Derived from release date in the past)
S1E3: Released (Derived from release date in the past)
S1E4: Released (Derived from release date in the past)
S1E5: Post-Prod (Release date in the future)
S1E6: Post-Prod (Release date in the future)
S1E7: Post-Prod (Release date in the future)
S1E8: Post-Prod (Release date in the future)

This means that (credited as) would not be able to be added to S1E5 onward until those episodes have been released.

Luckily with the new derived status these no longer need to be manually update so within a day or so these with flip to "Released" (Derived from earliest release of 2016-06-07 (GB) ) for example.

I've tried adding a credit with the as attribute to S1E1 and it seemed to work for me:

Are you attempting to update a group of episodes including unreleased episodes?

Thanks,
Adam

I experienced it with episode 1.1 when I submitted/updated the cast on 8 June 2016, the day after its air date.

I also experienced it with episode 1.3 when I submitted/updated the cast on 22 June 2016, the day after its air date.

Maybe there is a delay which prevents "credited as" being submitted for a short time *after* the air date / release date.

I've not normally experienced this problem: I routinely submit new cast or update exisiting cast the day after the air date - sometimes even on the *same* day, immediately after airing. Could it be that in the case of the Agatha Raisin episodes (and also those of "The Durrells" (2016) which have cause the same problem) there was already an earlier Production / Development Status date for "filming", "pre-production" or whatever, whereas in all the other the cases where everything works, there was no earlier status?

Thanks for the quick reply. That's interesting, it could well be that the derived status change is delayed causing this issue. I've currently got a technical ticket open to decrease the time taken for statuses to be update and this should improve this situation. I'm going to copy this example on to that ticket as evidence for prioritising this work.

In the mean time, can you confirm if you are still getting this error (you don't have to hit submit on the credit but just going through the process should give you a red flag if its not going to work).

Thanks,
Adam

I'll know next Wednesday morning (6 July) when I update the credits for episode 1.5 on the morning after it's transmitted. Even if there are no "credited as" actors, I'll pretend that there is one (without submitting) to test the situation. I've just tried it for 1.4 and it's worked, though that may be because sufficient time has now elapsed since the air date.

Looking back at my submissions for 1.3, I failed to get "as" credits accepted (so submitted them without) in 160622-085043-895000 (submitted at 0850 GMT / 0950 BST on 22 June, when air date was 21 June) and it took until 160626-103010-079000 (1030 BST on 26 June) for the "as" correction to be accepted, though I'm not sure whether some of the delay was waiting for the previously-submitted credit to be recorded in the updates system so I could make a further change to it; I may have been able to submit a *new* credit before that time.

I'll keep an eye on what happens with 1.5, and keep trying to submit new pretend credits periodically so see how long after the air date I need to wait.

I can confirm that when I tried to add cast with a credited-as attribute for Episode 1.6 of Agatha Raisin (release date 5 July 2016) at 0900 on 6 July, I got the error. I'll try at various times over the next day or so, and see when I'm first able to add credited-as.

Thanks Martin,

I can confirm that although the release date has pasted S01 E05 has not yet updated so that is definitely the issue.

I will raise this internally. In the mean time, I've updated this for you so you can now make those submissions.

All the best,
Adam

Thanks. I'm glad I've helped you identify the circumstances that cause the error. I've just tried a dummy "credited as" and it now works.

By the way, I got the episode number wrong: The Vicious Vet was 1.5, as you say, not 1.6.

Fortuately I didn't need to add any credited-as entries for real on this occasion - I just tried a dummy one to test for the error message and then removed the fake "credited as" attribute.

Sorry. I'm afraid this has not been fixed. I've just tried to amend cast for "Victoria" (2016) {Doll No. 123 (#1.1)} 160829-093731-494000 and it's not letting me set "credited as". I submitted "released" status for both the series and all the episodes in 160821-112313-592000, 8 days ago. Today is 29 August, so it's the day after the release date and the status-released date - so it should let me add it.

Can you please look into this bug because it's very annoying to want to enter data from credits as soon as a programme has aired, and to find that some details can't be added at the time, meaning that I will have to remember to re-visit the episode at some time in the future.
