Note to IMDb Staff

Please intervene. I asked a question 3 weeks ago and now this one user can't stop himself from commenting, but he isn't helping at all. He's not coming up with rules/guidelines/reasons to do with the question, etc.

He's now posting requests to you the staff to merge the topic with another one even though it makes no sense (because one is about theatrical releases and the other one abut one specific TV program).

https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/hallmark-hall-of-fame-episodes-are-all-listed-as-tv-movies

He's got something against episodes and is disrupting the whole question by claiming stuff that isn't actually relevant if you check it.
(In fact that's vaguely familiar, I think he's been against anything having a sub-layer for episodes, ever since the IMDB introduced that almost 15(!) years ago.)

Please tell this user to leave the topic alone for a while.

Same question
Making Episodes where there are none.
Add Episodes for vintage Movie Serials
Hallmark Hall of Fame - episodes are all listed as TV movies
Please merge the two topics

This is what I am talking about. He has been making this call here, and also repeatedly in both threads concerned... even though others, who were not involved before, have pointed out the difference to him. It's simply disruptive.

I haven't been polite every time either but at least I've cited relevant arguments and tried to keep an eye on treating the data consistent.

Hi Ed, thanks for your concern however these are two separate questions regarding different titles on the site.

Thanks for clarifying.
I agreed on the other topic that it was not really a question but an Idea post.

Elizabeth My original question stands. That user is disrupting the whole process. Every time you answer one question he comes back with another, different objection. Now he's gone back to his original complaint again that the info isn't properly sourced. Which is irrelevant because it's only about the category.

So the whole thing starts all over again and can go on forever. It's creating needless doubt. And this way a clear answer is just hidden beneath tons of posts so no-one can find the truth anymore.

I agree with you Uberhamster, the way IMDb has dealt with this particular user is not good enough.

When an opinion is given by you, and someone disagrees, then that user is described as disrupting?
Serious?
If I posted the same volume of content and it agreed with you, you would not be here complaining.
Now would you?
No!

Marco
The way IMDb has dealt with this particular user is not good enough?

That can be applied to you also. Your lack of comprehension of English gets in the way of understanding the original posters questions and your interpretation of the help topics. So you can on occasion mis-advise persons seeking help.
Your lack of understanding on photos is a perfect example. If you come here to "Help" and advise, then maybe your field of knowledge needs to be sufficient enough to accomplish said task.
You do not meet these standards.
IMDb has not dealt with you in an acceptable manner either.
But since you brought it up.....there you go.
I kept my mouth shut about you because I was being polite. I have disagreed before and I steered clear of you because you would not take the hint and do a better job.
We have not had "Words" for months because I gave you up as a lost cause. I tried to make you better, but to no avail. And the result is that you have not improved.

Will not reply back to either of you.
I only replied at all because you replied so as to try to keep this alive.
The best to both of you.
Cheers.

Since you think I'm a lost cause, I (once again) ask you not to reply to me ever again. I also ask you not to reply to a thread started by me. If you'll do so, I'll start a new thread asking staff to block your account.
I will promise you I will never reply to you ever again (this will be my last reply to you).

I also ask you not to reply to a thread started by me.

I have not for over a year. So need not have asked.
You also need not have even typed this at all.
Please be a better contributor. That's all I ask
Thanks

You posted and removed this. Said I go just short of swearing. True.

I may disagree with your opinion, but I do not go over the top like you do.
But you replied to me and told me to "S** on it". See here......

That shows me that you are as old as I am. That term is slang where I come from for "go **** yourself in the ***". You said this derogatory term to me. You sir have been debated on an issue that by the way you won, and you chose to gloat and replied with that crude slang reference that you though that I would not know what its meaning was.
WRONG.
I do know.
Care to apologize?
And DO NOT try and explain it as some innocent phrase on 'Happy Days'! Yes thats where it was first seen by national audiences, but it's actually a term that's older.
Please see here. You meant it as intended.
Shame on you sir.
11 Perfectamundo Phrases from 'Happy Days' | Mental Flosswww.mentalfloss.com › article › 11-perfectamundo-phrases-happy-days

Sep 25, 2015 - SIT ON IT ... of sit and spin or sit and rotate, which implies one should go sit on one's thumb and rotate, a somewhat cleaner version of shove it up your ***. ... which might come from the Spanish mundo, meaning “world.”.

IMDb staff.
Healthy debate on a subject and free speech should be encouraged.
But for any user to ask that another user be banned simply for debating an opposite point of view is an unfair thing to ask of anyone or for that matter any government.
This is not a dictatorship and I ask that only my passion for a pure database that lists data in accordance with the as posted rules be adhered to. My only motivation is the protection of the data as the originator of the database intended.

And I ask for no ban by this user for his flagrant violation of the Get Satisfaction T.O.U.
Just an apology for his comment and this whole post.
Thanks

(oh what a surprise. Yet again user Ed Jones(XLIX) is asked to stop stalking other users by leaving them alone. See this thread from just yesterday where he continued to do exactly the same thing:
https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topi...

IMDb staff reaction to this type of behaviour: NOTHING. )

Poor example.
It is you stalking me because I had a difference of opinion with you ONCE. Since then you have been on a campaign to silence me and my replies to debate an opposite point of view.
Your commenting here is in the same poor behavior pattern as the original poster that started this post.
I'm controversial and opinionated.
Pro IMDb.
But you have called me a stalker and given reasons for your beliefs.
Invalid beliefs I might add.
An IMDb Champion interjected and tried to make you aware of my passion in defense of the accuracy of the database instead of it being interpreted by wild suppositions and twisting the meaning of the help topics.

But I unlike you do not seek an overboard solution to such issues. (Banning)
A polite, "I'm Sorry" would be enough.
I disagree with your very poor and rude treatment of staff (Yes you are extremely rude to them) and ask you to be nicer, and since then you have been vehemently attacking me ever since.
No sir you have a rude demeanor towards staff.
I won't post any examples here, because there are dozens of them/.
Of this fact you cannot escape.
Please I ask you nicely.
Apologize to staff at the bare minimum.
I'll let your mistreatment of me slide.
