Possible box office data issue.

The Neighbors' Window, the recent Oscar winner for Best Live Action Short Film, has some curious box office figures.

The domestic opening weekend reads $1,155,505. A short film had a million dollar opening weekend? For real? Or is it a mistype of some kind?

Then the domestic gross reads $270,067. Did the producers skim $885,438 while counting the money for the suddenly lucrative short film theater going experience?

And then of course the worldwide gross has the same figure as the domestic, which is a curiosity of a different kind.

The figures don't jive, nor to me do they seem likely. As always, I could be wrong.

I also think that the Opening is wrong (I can't be bigger than the film is total Gross in USA) the data comes from Box Office Mojo, we should fix that there too, but as I said the error is also on Box Office Mojo so I would be hard to prove that both are wrong in the "Explanation Box".

Carter: It appears that the $1,155,505 opening weekend refers to the opening weekend for the 2020 Oscar Nominated Short Films.

But IMDb should not give The Neighbors' Window the credit for that gross, because (a) not only was The Neighbors' Window just one of the five live action films shown in the program ... but (b) the $1,155,505 gross is the combined gross for three different releases -- the Animated, Live Action, and Documentary shorts -- which are shown in three different programs with separate tickets sold to each.

In other words, some of the people who paid for tickets that contributed to that $1,155,505 gross didn't even get to see The Neighbors' Window because they were at the Animation or the Documentary screenings.

At this point, I don't know where the $270,067 amount came from.

I'm giving you a "me too" vote on this in hopes that we can get some more clarification and/or corrections.
