Poll Suggestion: Which Movie Song Tells Your Love Story?

"Only You", "My Heart Will Go On", "Unchained Melody", "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" or "I Will Always Love You"... there are songs you declare your love with, but that's not to forget a few others that tell love stories, that's not the same thing.

With their own terms, their specific poetry, funny, sad or even corny in a soothing way, one can seriously identify himself (or herself) with the lyrics. So here's a panel of a few movie songs that directly or indirectly tell a love story, or illustrate a specific situation involving love (or its lack of).

Which movie song tells your love story?

Well, I'm certainly dating myself when I say this, but "Where Do I Begin?" the theme from Love Story, starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal is a lyric to which I can strongly identify.  I hope to see many more on this poll!

FYC: Hopelessly Devoted to You - Grease (1978)

My head is saying, "Fool, forget him." My heart is saying, "Don't let go. Hold on till the end." And that's what I intend to do I'm hopelessly devoted to you.

Hi, ElM.

A general advice concerning colors used for formatting. When a font is colored yellow (as it is now in your initial list), it looks great in image-based lists where the images themselves are the background. But when such a list goes to poll then the descriptions are placed separately and the background is "white" by default, so the yellow will be hard to recognize in majority of cases.

PS: orange remains mostly good.

Thanks but it was a poll driven by inspiration, I didn't want to make researches on specific songs. I would be glad to add any of your suggestions but I don't want to work for this poll.

My favorite song like that is Your Song, but it's not really a movie song.

I'd say lyrics that tell specific stories are not necessarily easier to identify with.

I agree, it was a totally random process, took me some time to gather more than 10 options but that's the most fun part of it...

The photos and songs for Adaptation, Blood Simple, and Death Proof crack me up. How funny. :)
Good poll!

May I suggest a few very small edits to the intro? (below in bold)

"Only You", "My Heart Will Go On", "Unchained Melody", "Can't Take My Eyes Off You"or "I Will Always Love You"... there are songs you declare your love with, but that's not to forget a few others that tell love stories that's not the same thing. (Depending on what you mean, either no punctuation at all or a semi-colon)

With their own terms, their specific poetry, funny, sad or even corny in a soothing way, one can seriously identify himself or herself with the lyrics. So here's a panel of a few movie songs that directly or indirectly tell a love story, or illustrate a specific situation involving love (or lack thereof).

Oh, and my vote: if I could split my vote, I'd go half with #7 ("I'm not in love...") and half with #6 ("Its the same old song...").. Maybe 3/4 and 1/4, depending on how cynical I'm feeling, lol.
