Poll Suggestion: Which Horror Movie Would You Most Like to See Remade?

The world of modern horror is rife with remakes.  They have become so pervasive that practically no horror film is completely immune to becoming the subject of a remake effort.  However, for any number of reasons, there may be times when optimism and intrigue accompanies the thought of a certain film being reinvented.  Which of these hypothetical horror remakes would you be most interested in watching?

Only films with more than 10,000 votes will be included.

Maximum of two suggestions per person

Interesting. There are many films I feel should be protected (somehow) from being remade within fifty years of the original time of production, so this is kind of challenging. How terrible are the films on the list? Being so, if that is the case, are they also cult classics?

I rated all of them a 7 actually, except Eyes Without a Face which is a 9.  For Eyes Without A Face, the story line of a doctor removing people's faces without consent to give to his deformed daughter would be cool to see as a hardcore gore fest, directed by Alexandre Aja (Hills Have Eyes remake) or someone with that style.  The movie doesn't need any fixing, I just think it would be cool done another way too.  The campiness of Basket Case is what gives it its charm (when the monster moves it looks like bad claymation), but I'd be interested to see how it'd turn out if the effects allowed it to be taken seriously.  The other 2 have awesome story lines, but a few things that could've been tweaked to make them the best they could've been. I find remakes very annoying and I wouldn't necessarily want any of them to be remade, but if they were I'd actually have hopes of it being good and I'd go see them.

I also wasn't taking into account when the original film was released, as I'm not assuming the remake would come out this year

I wouldn't want to give any of the studios in the contemporary art environment any ideas, so there's that issue. Right now, there seems to be an overuse of mediocre CGI accompanied by an underuse of sophisticated practical effects. Often I prefer the latter, even they are fake as hell. That's only part of the issue too. A lot of recent horror movies come off as having rushed plots. I'm off on a tangent. My apologies.

I hear ya but the thing is they don't need us to give them ideas when they're gonna steal everyone else's regardless.

EXHIBIT A: Cabin Fever remake less than 15 years later, with no attempt to make it any less stupid (even keeping the part where the guy stole gum or something from the convenience store owned by terrifying people.......like why).

EXHIBIT B: Martyrs 7 years after the original.

EXHIBIT C: Inside 9 years after.

The point is they're gonna remake everything that exists without any statute of limitations regarding how long they should wait, or any attempt to alter the script at all. At this point I choose to accept it and I'll hesitantly support any remake that might actually provide a different experience than was possible under the circumstances the original was made, or that chooses a movie with an interesting premise that could've been executed better (or differently).

For example, Maniac (1980) is one of my favourite movies and the remake was only decent..but they tried to go deeper into his past mommy issues and his relationship with Anna, so I can't even be pissed that they made the movie.; At least they found a way they believed the original could be improved and went for it, rather than taking a popular movie and copying the script word-for-word because they know the fame of the original would advertise the movie for itself and be easy money. Are ya picking up what I am placing down?

This list seems to be private. Is that on purpose?
