There are those movies that we all love so dearly that we inevitably are compelled by some unknown force that uncontrollably makes us watch them over and over. Some are from our childhoods. Some we watch after having our hearts broken for the umpteenth time. Others just awaken us with awe and wonder at what might be. These movies we watch again and again to remind of us what we were and dreams yet to be fulfilled.
What is the movie you re-watch that makes you forget about your own troubles in life, and brings back that feeling you had in an earlier time, and re-freshens your soul?

Suggestions (you narrow down to what you think is good. Just going off of some of the things I like and that are pretty universally liked, too):
Cinderella (1950)
Hocus Pocus (1993) (silly little movie but I've somehow seen it many times)
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
Chicken Little (2005)
Sleeping Beauty (1959)
Frozen (2013)
Tangled (2010)
Top Gun (1986)
As far as removals... what on earth is The Fifth Element doing on there? That's something I'd watch to damage my soul, not freshen it! :)

It's an interesting and broad category for me: I have a plethora of movies that are not special favorites and yet yes, it's hard not to rewatch them from time to time. The Fifth Element (1997) is indeed a notable offender.

Will wait on additions for about 30 days.
But all will be added that meet the criteria of having at least a confirmation affirmation of three likes. Or that I consider them a must for inclusion.

Would like to wait a little more for suggestions. But it could go as is.
What is in there are personal favorites of mine. Some are movies that I know that friends watch over and over.
It can go now. At 25 it is good.

Ed, I think this topic is very individual. We all have different kinds of movies we like to watch over and over, so the list shouldn't be based on your personal favorites.
Maybe this would work better as a poll board picks poll, and we can all choose one or two movies?

Jessica as per your request I have requested a poll thread delete.
Thanks for pointing out that I need to include suggestions and make it a Poll Board Members Poll.

My personal favorites align pretty well with this published article!
And I did not look at it first either.
And why should my personal favorites be discounted if they are really good, or if they can be proven to be in alignment with public tastes?
I have taken the rest of the the movies on that list and added them.
There are 35 choices now.
Cheers
Thanks

Rubyfruit76, After Jessica's suggestion above, it prompted me to see how close my personal favorites stack up to what the public thinks. Well it was very very close. So I took that list and filled it up to 35.
It is ready.
Thanks

I didn't vote in this poll. I have been through my share of depressing periods and suicidal thoughts. Among the few films that actually managed to cheer me up when I was down were films that are not in the list. "Highlander" (1986), "Groundhog Day" (1993), "Ace Ventura:Pet Detective" (1994), "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" (1995).

Dimos Dicoudis, Highlander (1986) is one of my all-time favorites and it indeed never fails to cheer me up a bit! Groundhog Day (1993) also has that effect on me, as well.

Now it is 21 Votes between first and 15th.

Officer and a Gentleman has a better Love Story than Top Gun.

This is brand new.
Will wait for more input.
Jessica and Rubyfruit76 hopefully.
I wish Jen was around.
She would have good ideas on this too.

You can add Ella, but Cinderella is the classic that people keep coming to, I think. You could add both.
Yes, you need more input before more decisions are made.
Ed Jones (XLIX)
I suspect Mrs. Peacock.
I hope she is OK though.
