Ed, something is wrong with the 2010s...

Infinity War & Endgame don't feature, and they have higher ratings than 4 of the 6 2010s movies you chose for that decade.

A minor clarification.

Minimum 7.0 or highest ranking and 100,000 votes minimum or highest vote total. Vote total takes priority.

Some of the movie do not have Sci-Fi genre on the 3 genre appear on the list, like Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Superman (1978) etc and many more..

Sili, the "3 genres" is not an order of relevance.

The genres are listed in alphabetical order (except for the ADS exception.)

Yes the genres are in alphabetical order.
So every title on that list is sci-fi. Trust me!

01 Close Encounters of the Third Kind - The KOA next to Devils Tower National Monument screens this outside nightly. A little over a year ago I watched the movie there as a thunderstorm passed by, lightning illuminating the tower. Not the first time I saw the movie but the most memorable.

02 Stalker
03 Alien
04 A Clockwork Orange
05 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
06 Twelve Monkeys
07 Aliens
08 Blade Runner
09 The Terminator
10 Back to the Future
11 Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
12 Inception
13 The Truman Show
14 Mad Max: Fury Road
15 Star Wars
16 Jurassic Park
17 Interstellar
18 The Matrix
19 Terminator 2: Judgment Day
20 Donnie Darko
21 The Prestige
22 V for Vendetta
23 Gattaca
24 Guardians of the Galaxy
25 Predator
26 Superman
27 The Avengers
28 Star Trek
29 Deadpool
30 Avatar

If I can only have one wildcard it would be Children of Men, edging out Brazil, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Moon, Edge of Tomorrow, and The Fifth Element.

I'd second Children of Men.

Was just looking through the decades to see what great sci-fi might be missing--top 6 captures many of the usual suspects.  Some of the more notable exclusions to my mind would be:
1970s - Solaris (1972)
1980s - Akira (1988) or Back to the Future Part II (1989) (others might prefer E.T.)
1990s - with only 5 wildcards, this seems the decade to skip
2000s - agree with Children of Men
2010s - Gravity (2013) is listed as sci-fi for whatever reason, and it'd be my favorite, but for real sci-fi I might go with Arrival (2016)

FROM ED: "Children of Men" has met the requirement of 2 'affirmations' and been added to the list.
