Black Panther (2018) and Joker (2019) are the only superhero movies to have been nominated for Best Picture Oscars. Which of these highest rated superhero movies do you think should had nominated for Best Picture?

My favorite is V For Vendetta - although i'm not sure that I'd call it a Superhero Movie.

Gitte Løyche, I'd say that both movie and source material, which was a serialized comic strip in the magazine, later published as a mini-series and a graphic novel have more than enough tie-ins to superhero genre.

Ironically, I'd say that deranged, severely traumatized and yet still genius mixture of vigilante and anarcho-terrorist targeting corrupt dystopian government... Is a more realistic scenario of comic-book-like superheroes and/or villains appearing in our world than average origin stories.

Oh and perhaps there should be a "none of the above" option.

Oh wow, there's actually a film now entitled 'None of the Above.' That works well. Were you around back in the days before that film was released and we used "the Betty White option?" Lol.

The Dark Knight should have won. Infinity War should have been nominated.

Maybe for reference you could add the actual nominees of each year so we know which film they could have lef out of the nominees.

Hmm... I'm a bit puzzled with the inclusion of three films in this poll:

- The LEGO Movie isn't really a superhero movie. Yes, it does feature a few of the DC Comics superheroes in supporting roles, however, it also features some Star Wars characters, but it wouldn't be fair to call it a Star Wars film, would it?

- V for Vendetta, whatever people say, is not a superhero movie. Calling it as such would make no more sense than calling any Robin Hood film a 'superhero movie'. After all, Robin is also a freedom fighter (or terrorist, from his enemies' point of view) who fights against the corrupted government, has a secret hideout, an alias, and some special abilities.

- Donnie Darko. What? Huh? Did I miss anything the only time I watched it? I don't remember anything super-heroic about that film.
