Murders are always disturbing, some have elements that are particularly violent, bloody, gruesome, and unsettling. But some are even worse than that, when they remain unsolved, leaving questions that lingered for decades afterward, as years passed without an arrest or even a credible suspect.

There’s an undeniable feeling of extra chilling to your spine and adrenaline that comes from knowing such story of the murder crime really happened and still remain unsolved, meaning that the perpetrator may still out there right now and even might also contribute to vote this poll.

Which of this unsolved cases do you want the most for Sherlock to solved and get the truth behind them?

“It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.” ― Voltaire

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls080002913/

Note:
I've been compiling the list for weeks now and I probably still miss many of the cases. Any unsolved cases are welcome, but they have to have IMDb page, feature film, short, TV or episode, plot is directly or non directly about the cases. For non direct work they have to be a close relation to the real murder like I did with In Cold Blood movie.

Silitonga,

This is an interesting concept for a poll. I'm mulling over which case would benefit the most from having Sherlock Holmes consult on the case.

You have two minor grammar / punctuation problems:

Change the first comma to a semicolon.
From:
Murders are always disturbing, some have elements that are particularly violent, bloody, gruesome, and unsettling.

To:
Murders are always disturbing; some have elements that are particularly violent, bloody, gruesome, and unsettling.

Change this to these.
From:
Which of this unsolved cases do you want the most for Sherlock to solved and get the truth behind them?

To:
Which of these unsolved cases do you want the most for Sherlock to solved and get the truth behind them?

You've done a great job describing each of these unsolved murders. When I get a chance, I will review the grammar for these descriptions.

Larry Harnisch is a retired “Los Angeles Times” columnist. He has specialized in the crime history of Los Angeles, especially the Black Dahlia case in his blog, “The Daily Mirror: Larry Harnisch Reflects on L.A. History.” https://ladailymirror.com/

I’ve had the pleasure of corresponding with Mr. Harnisch regarding the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders, which is the basis for Changeling (2008).

Thank you sir I've corrected the intro. And please do for the descriptions. My English its not good, that's why sometime I have a lack of confident in writing long description. I just need help.

Whoa that's awesome, thank you for the blog. I also a little obsess with Black Dahlia murder and when I read about Dr. George Hodel's son accused him for the kill, I thought its true, I mean it could be since no other suspect the investigators got as close as the physician. But reading the blog give a different perspective about the case.

This is tough, because they are all sad and intriguing...
My top 3 would be:
The Gruber Family
JonBenet
Black Dahlia

I chose them because of the very odd circumstances.
Most of these could be chalked up to a crazy serial killer, but why kill these people?  And why like that?  Those questions need to be answered.

My question is, how do they know when everyone on the Gruber farm died?  I mean, how do they know that they were all killed at once?

I have an (unprofessional) theory:

One of them killed everyone else, then eventually felt guilty and killed themselves.

OMG that theory that you said about "One of them killed everyone else, then eventually felt guilty and killed themselves." just gave a good shiver to my spine. Its a whole new side of view about the case.

But, there is a long story about the case that I didn't put on the description because it'll be too long. Days before the murder, they found footprints on the snow toward the farmland but the footprints never left the farm. So the killer could be hiding in the farm all that time no one know until the unfortunate day.

When I saw the crime scene photos, it was really gruesome and horror.

I'm not into gruesome things, but when it's an unsolved case it does kinda fascinate me...
Hmm, I can't explain the footprints...
The question is, was it just a crazy serial killer, or were they targeted?

Could be. The case is almost a 100 years now and slowly turn into legend. We will never know what really happened that day.

Silitonga,

I have not forgotten about copy editing your poll. This is a good concept for a poll. However, it is a diamond in the rough.

The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann (2019– )
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann takes a detailed look at the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine McCann, who vanished from the seaside resort of Praia de Luz in Portugal, while on holiday with her family.

I had forgotten about this case until my wife and daughter started watching this Netflix series.

Silitonga,

I promised to copy edit your descriptions. Fortunately, there were only minor typographical and/or grammar errors. Here is my suggested edits:

01 O.J.: Made in America

Though O. J. Simpson was arrested in 2007 for unrelated crimes, no other else was brought to justice for this double murders, so the identity of the killer is still unsolved until now.

02 Die Büchse der Pandora

More than 100 years later to this day, still no one able to identified this serial killer.

Silitonga,

Thank you for making the edits that I recommended. There is still one minor typo that remains.

FYC: General Juan Prim Murder. dramatized in this film

From Wikipedia: "a Spanish general and statesman; in December 1870, he was shot through the windows of his carriage by several unknown assailants and died two days later. In 2012, his body was exhumed; the ensuing autopsy showed he may have been strangled in his deathbed, but results were deemed inconclusive."

The Gatton Muders. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11859156/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1

From Wikipedia: "on 26 December 1898. Siblings Michael, Norah and Ellen Murphy were found deceased the morning after they left home to attend a dance in the town hall which had been cancelled. The bodies were arranged with the feet pointing west and both women had their hands tied with handkerchiefs. This signature aspect has never been repeated in Australian crime and to date remains a mystery"

I decided not to include Prim murder because its more like political related assignation. I added The Gatton Muders thanks.
