Interesting poll. I knew the story behind the name Caligula but most of the other ones are new to me, so I learned quite a bit! I go for Lionheart (Richard I Anjou Cœur de Lion, King of England).

Napoleon Bonaparte was nicknamed The Little Corporal, which was a term of affection from his soldiers, and his close guard (mostly composed of six-footers) and the nickname was another misleading indication of a short height while Napoleon was 5'6 and half, or 1m69, which was bigger than average for a French man (especially of Mediterranean background) from this era.

Also Czar Ivan the Terrible (or the Fearsome)

He wasn't a ruler technically, but I like the nickname of Pierre Terrail, Lord of Bayard: the knight without fear and beyond reproach

All right:)

RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE FATE (An-Nasir Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub, Sultan of Egypt and Syria)
Actually, it's only the translation of his name: Salah ad-Din = Righteousness of the Fate, like Zinedine (from footballer's name Zinedine Zidane) comes from the word Zine ad-Din = Beauty of the Fate and Alaa ad-Din (which is the Arabic writing of Aladdin) means Majesty of the Fate.

You make a good point.
Salah ad-Din has been replaced with Isabel a Redentora (Redemptress), Princess Imperial of Brazil.
