In fairness, you should include Michael Moore's opposite number, Dinesh D'Souza even though he doesn't have near the amount of success or talent.

I also would expand the title a bit, I thought was going to be a poll about directors who also held or ran for political office, like Franco Zeffirelli, Clint Eastwood Tom Laughlin,  Ralph Waite, Melissa Gilbert or others. Maybe CHANGE THE TITLE to, Directors Who Get Political, Directors Who Play Politics  Politico Directors or something like that would be less misleading.

Thank you, I appreciate your suggestions, I really was not completely satisfied with the title, I changed the title of my list to: Directors Who Get Political.

'Great idea for a poll!

May I suggest two edits to the intro? ('below in bold)

After seeing how these directors manage politics in their jobs, which of them do you consider to be the director that best addresses policy?

(replace "as" with "to be" and remove "the" from between "addresses" and "policy")

(Also, is "policy" the word that you want to use? The films listed are definitely political but most of them don't address policy, precisely.)

On the other hand, I think that "Policy" is the correct word, otherwise which word could be more appropriate, since I try to include films that agree with the introduction of the list.

FYC:

I second Costa Gavras (suggested by ElMo) and 'Z' (suggested by Gitte) is a really good example of a good political film.

Rod Lurie: 'The Contender' (2000), 'Nothing But the Truth' (2008)

***Errol Morris: 'The Fog of War' (2003) ; 'The Thin Blue Line' (1988)  ; 'The Unknown Known' (2013)
('Perhaps the most acclaimed documentarian ever and most of his work is political)

Suggestions for additional films from directors already on the list:

Adam McKay: 'The Big Short' (2015)

***Ava DuVernay : '13th' (2016) (documentary) ; 'When They See Us' (2019). (the second one Is very popular right now)

***George Clooney: 'Good Night, and Good Luck' (2005)

Aaron Sorkin: "The Newsroom" (2012-2014) (TV Series) (Like 'West Wing' and most everything on his resume, he didn't direct but he was the creator and main writer)

***Spike Lee: "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts" (2006-2007) (TV Mini-Series); '4 Little Girls' (1997) (documentary)
