All these films have one thing in common: they take place in the year 1997, some were actually released in 1997 and the year (clearly identified in the film) represents the present, but in quite memorable instances, 1997 was the past or the future.

Which of these movies set in a past, present or future 1997 is your favorite?

Thanks, Jen. But...

...you sure about Kingsman? And wasn't Benjamin Button born in 1918, didn't he live the best part of his romance in the 60's? II guess I should have been more specific, 1997 shouldn't be just the year of a set-up or one year the film geos through over the narrative, it has to take place primarily during 1997 (at least 90% of it)

So, which options should I keep on that basis?

1997 was the year that Benjamin and Daisy reunited.

1997 was more than 50% of The Debt - the rest of the film is set in 1965.

In Kingsman, the prelude where Eggsy's dad sacrifices himself is set in 1997.

Rush Hour was set on the last day of British rule in Hong Kong, which occurred in 1997.

The actual events of Shattered Glass and, thus the film, occurred in 1997.

The Red Violin covered four centuries and five countries, including the scenes set in 1997 Montreal which bookend the other events.

Romy and Michelle is set in 1997 - the high school reunion they attend was for the class of 1987.

Mad Max I got off a list from Wiki, but I can't seem to find anything to back it up.
