Oh, The Sorcerer (1977) is my pick, definitely! I think the original French film is great, but it's just a tad bit too long, in my opinion, and the '77 version has an advantage of color. Yeah, I'm not against black & white films, but the story is set in a rain forest - having color brings out the lushness and intensifies the heat.

Excellent review! I agree with a lot of your points - especially about the thrills of the rope bridge scene (one of the most thrilling scenes I've ever seen in any film), and the unfortunate title they've chosen (in my country, Serbia, both films are called similar to the original - Nadnica za strah, i.e. A Wage for Fear, and I see a lot of other countries opted for a similar translation as well, ditching the Sorcerer name completely).
All in all, a criminally underseen film - the original at least managed to rack up 50,000 votes on IMDb, while this only has around 16,000.

I would like to suggest Mad Max: Fury Road. Yes, you already have MM2, but Fury Road has Furiosa's truck (dubbed the ''War Rig'') during most of the film's run time. The War Rig can practically be considered a central ''character'' in the story.

Suggestion: The one movie that comes to my mind when I hear 'Trucking'; the film that taught us that if you wanna feel like a truck, turn your hat around: Over the Top.  :)

Oh, and it has a lot of sweat.  A lot.  And now I feel like I need a KARR hat, for some reason.

15yearsIMDber, as far as I remember it made such a buzz, it actually was released theatrically post factum.

Well, I think it pretty much serves my point that it's not totally arbitrary to have included that classic, although its initial format was TV. Thanks for bringing up these interesting facts.

"Duel" is probably too "basic" for today's audiences... no shooting, no sex, very little dialogue... just suspense and good acting.

I am surprised there are no comments about "Hell Drivers", which I watched recently after re-discovering Patrick McGoohan.  LOTS of trucks in that one  ;-)
